WELCOME TO THE SHOW

≡ ✪✪✪ ≡

[The end credits of COPS on Spike TV roll through with the infamous theme song fading out. Silence fills then the Union Battleground logo flickers in and out sporadically, then nothingness again.  Fade back in to a scene showing a long, winding road deep in the night in the middle of what looks like to be an unmarked desert area. Scattered street lights, some flickering to hang on to their final watts of life, illuminate a rough pavement path. In the distance is a headlight, bobbing up and down the hills and valleys. As the light draws near, a deep and thunderous rumble resonates and increases in volume until we see a vivid silhouette of a biker barreling down the road. As the biker approaches collision of our view, a quick four count on an open hi-hat crashes as we begin our video montage.]

♫ GIMME FUEL, GIMME FIRE, GIMME THAT WHICH I DESIRE! ♫

[As the shredding riffs of lead guitarist Kirk Hammett fill the void, "Fuel" by Metallica ushers in a montage of high-flying top rope maneuvers from Trevor Miller, followed with a poor bastard taking a powerbomb through a flaming table by Dick Devereaux,  Emery Layton hitting The Prikasa from the top rope to the outside, then a bloodied Malcolm Dred-King getting his hand raised in victory as the logo to L!GHTS OUT crashes in with an explosion.

As the opening montage fades away, we venture to a bird's eye view of the ring surrounded by cheering fans. The ring is encased by a cubical steel scaffold structure for the lighting and pyrotechnics. Another camera angle shows a panoramic view of the capacity crowd chanting and waving signs. The open outdoor arena reveals the deep purple sky as the sun is beginning to set. A magnificent fireworks display from the stage and surrounding ring lights up the sky. A final camera view comes to focus to our broadcast booth...]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen, to the inauguration of Union Battleground's fortnightly show, L!GHTS OUT! We are looking live on SpikeTV with a jam packed capacity crowd of 10,350 at the Plaza de Toros Calafia; or... to all you non-bilingual fans, the Calafia Bullring in Mexicali, Mexico! I am your host, "The Doctor" Dante Reed, and alongside me is my partner, the legendary semi-retired wrestling icon, "Diamond" Dick Thrasher! Welcome aboard, my friend!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Thank you, Doc! It feels great to be in this arena tonight.  But let me clarify one thing, the only thing about me that's "semi" is my retirement... Ladies! But yes, we're here in the bullring, so much history and tradition... It's just fitting, I can't think of a better place to start this promotion's inauguration! The atmosphere here is electric, and as you can see, the sun is beginning to set behind us, and the stars are coming out!

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Literally and figuratively! We've got quite a show in store for you all, with many of today's top competitors showcasing their talent... And to kick things off, we've got a high octane opening bout featuring two--....

♫ THERE AIN'T NO GRAVE, CAN HOLD MY, BODY DOWN... ♫

[Fog begins to bellow out from the entrance as "Ain't No Grave" by Johnny Cash begins to play. The stage lights slowly dim down and the arena shifts to a dark blue tint. Out comes Axel Graves...]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Whoa! Well, here we go, folks! The opening match will have to wait momentarily as the boss man is wasting no time coming to the ring right now.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - I can't wait to see what he's got in store for us. This man is all business!

[Graves is, best described as a man in black, wearing a black "NEWYEAR//ZERO" t-shirt, black shades, and black jeans. As he makes his way down the aisle, we can see that in his hand he's holding a black duffel bag. He breaks away from a stern look and cracks a smile, as he looks throughout the crowd. He tags a few stretched out hands, and finally makes his way to the ring. He slides in under the bottom rope, stands up and proceeds to the opposite turnbuckle. He sets the black bag down in the corner, grabs a hold of both top ropes, then lunges himself up to stand on the middle ropes. He stares off into the cheering fans, and then he raises his arms and flexes, then lowers them down to his abdomen, and bellows out a ferocious war cry. Graves looks on into the crowd, and points to the front row, and spotted in the crowd is the UWL Triple Crown Champion, Drew Stevenson himself!]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed -Would you look at that! The UWL Triple Crown Champion Drew Stevenson is in the house tonight, folks!

[Graves hops off the ropes and turns to walk to the center of the ring. He directs his way to the hard cam, and slides his shades up to rest on his head, revealing a black eye. He pulls out a microphone from his back pocket, looks around one last time to the crowd, raises the mic to his chin and begins to speak.]

Axel Graves- Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls.... Allow me to be the first to welcome all of you to L!GHTS OUT!! ... Now, there are some of you out there who know who I am... Some of you know what I've done, what I've accomplished, what I'm about. But that... That was a long time ago. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Axel Graves. Now, I'm sure most of you out there witnessed my in-ring return in over fifteen years at the NEWYEAR//ZERO tribute show just a few days ago...

[The crowd begins to cheer, and a "WARPED" chant slowly begins to pick up.]

Axel Graves- Yes! Yes, it was a hard fought match, and I gotta give it up for my opposition... I stepped back into that ring because I had an itch, an itch that needed scratching! I've been out of the game for a long time, but I've watched many of these men and women lay it all on the line each and every week. Their work ethic and dedication I see in their faces, sacrificing their bodies and minds, that is the same mentality I had over a decade ago. These competitors have clawed their way up the ranks, and they have the same itch that needs scratched. And now, here we are!

[Crowd starts chanting: "BATTLEGROUND... BATTLEGROUND... BATTLEGROUND..."]

Axel Graves- We're all here tonight, to witness the beginning of a new chapter in the storied history of Union Battleground. We're all here for one thing...

[Graves goes to the corner and grabs the duffel bag. He unzips the top, and pulls out a championship belt. White leather with gold plates and a stunning design all around. The crowd goes wild as he raises it high in the air.]

Axel Graves - This right here is what we all came to see. This here is what all the competitors in the back came here to fight for. Sure, money talks, but this business' foundation is built on an ultimate goal, a crowning jewel. This here is the Union Championship. This belt has some rooted history dating back to the 40's. This belt was created by my grandfather. Forged by his own hands. Some of the biggest names in our sport from all over the world battled over this title. And tonight, I will officially resurrect the honor, pride, and glory this belt truly represents. You see, years ago, my father destroyed the business that his father created. He led this company down a dark path, and dismantled what this Championship use to represent. But I'm here to restore that legacy. I am here to pick up the rubble from the ashes, and bring it back to prominence. The Phoenix must burn to emerge.  And it's time to rise up... So, to crown our first champion in this new era, tonight we will kickoff a 16-fighter tournament. I have been scouting high and low, all across the world in search of the best talent this business has to offer. I don't particularly care about the big names, I don't care about the big draws.... Because, the fact is, once you all witness what all of these fighters are bringing to the table, they will all soon become household names.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - I can't wait! The anticipation is killing me!

Axel Graves - These guys represent what this sport is all about. They are the lifeblood and future of this industry... They are... UNION BATTLEGROUND! So... Without further ado, Mike, take it away!

CHRIS ANDREW vs BRANDON COLLINS

≡ ✪✪✪ ≡

[Ding ding ding]

Mike "Drop" Dempsey - The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is a first round match in the Union Championship tournament. Introducing first...

♫ AS I WALK IN THE DIRTY RAIN, ACID SEEPING THROUGH MY BRAIN ... ♫

[In the darkened Arena, blue and yellow spotlights start flashing follow the guitar rhythm of "Renegade Cavalcade" by Ash. As the chorus hits, Chris Andrew dashes out from the curtain, stopping on the stage and staring at the crowd. A few moments later, he runs his way to the ring, sliding under the bottom rope and climbing on the turnbuckle, getting another view of the sold out crowd. As the music fades out, he jumps back to the ring with a perfect backflip, landing on one knee.]

Mike “Drop” Dempsey - Making his way to the ring, weighing in at two hundred four pounds, and hailing from Scottsdale, Arizona ...he is Chris Andrew!

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - And we are kicking off our inaugural edition of Lights Out AND the the title tournament with this young up and comer, Chris Andrew. He is only getting his start in the wrestling business, but is already connected to a few companies.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - He is a little to enthusiastic if you ask me. If I was him and I heard that I would have to face someone the caliber of Brandon Collins, I would have not even shown up.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - I think that is why he is the wrestler and you are the commentator. Besides, you don't learn unless you are willing to take your licks.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - I'm just saying that he is about to get embarrassed in front of a lot of people to gain experience.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Don't go doubting him yet. I have heard great things from him and his potential. I suspect that we might even be looking at an upset here.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Don't go telling kids fairy tales here. Chris is going to enter and he is going to lose ...within seconds most likely.

Mike “Drop” Dempsey - And his opponent...

♫ COUNTING STARS BY NUJABES BEGINS TO PLAY ♫

[Suddenly the lights in the arena go out. The fans sit in pure darkness and confusion for a few seconds before Counting Stars by Nujabes plays through the PA system. This causes a mixed reaction mostly boos but some cheers. Then a lone spotlight shines on the stage to reveal The Expert Brandon Collins standing on stage with his arms spread out wide embracing the mixed reactions. After soaking in the boos and cheers for a few seconds Brandon slowly makes his way to the ring looking straight ahead at the ring, ignoring the fans to his left and right. He arrives at the ring, jumps up the apron and climbs the second turnbuckle. He looks at the sea of fans in attendance before spreading his arms out wide again. He jumps from the turnbuckle into the ring and stands in his corner.]

Mike “Drop” Dempsey - Weighing in at two hundred three pounds, from Virginia Beach, Virginia ..."The Expert" Brandon Collins!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Now, this man, this man could very well be our first Union Champion. He has talent, experience, and dashing good looks.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Brandon Collins is definitely well-known within the industry and has a nasty reputation of being a stiff technical competitor. I am not going to lie, Chris Andrew has one hell of a hurdle to climb here.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Hurdle? More like one of those walls people have to climb to become a police officer. Again, Chris might have the pluck, but Brandon has the know how.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Well, we are about to find out if you are right or not as our first match in the Axel Graves regime is about to begin.

[Ding!]

[The bell rings as Chris Andrew extends his hand to show some sportsmanship. Brandon Collins leans back, scoffing at this gesture. Instead he ruffles Andrew's hair as if he were an adorable little scamp. Chris Andrew shoves him away which makes Collins spring back into his face, upset with the disrespect the rookie is showing the veteran.]

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - What a brash show of arrogance from this ungrateful young upstart towards his elder.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - He tried to show good sportsmanship, but Brandon Collins was going to have none of it this evening. Chris was merely giving it back to him.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - But he is in no position to behave this way. His job is to be made a fool of by the older talent in a show of dominance.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - So, you and Collins believe that young talent should just put up with harassment.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - ABSOLUTELY! This sport was build on bullying and degradation.

[After some jaw jacking, the two lock up with Collins quickly getting the upper hand. He whips his opponent into the ropes. Chris bounces off them and gets rocked with a belly to belly suplex. Unimpressed by the lack of competition that  Mr. Andrew is giving him, he turns his back to him. He holds out his arms and taunts the crowd, as if them cheering Chris Andrew offends him. He turns back around to see Chris coming to.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Harassing the fans like that can't be smart, neither can turning your back on an opponent.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - When you out class your opponent as much as Collins does, he can get away with this. These people NEED to know!

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Know what?

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - They just need to know.

[He charges back at his opponent with a clothesline, but Chris ducks it. Both men bounce off the ropes and are headed to collision. The crowd cheers as Chris leap frogs over his opposition. Collins turns around and gets leveled with a roundhouse kick that sends him to the mat. It is Chris Andrew's turn to celebrate as he plays to the fans, lifting his fist up in victory as the fans go wild for this young go getter. Collins, is coming too and looks shocked that this young man has pulled one over on him. Andrew shrugs at him coyly, which makes the crowd get behind him even more. Collins is angry now.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Andrew now showing some spunk here and openly mocking his opponent.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - The audacity of this kid.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Collins just did the exact same thing.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - There is a hierarchy at play here and Chris is not respecting it.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - By that you mean you have a double standard?

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Of course that is what I mean.

[They charge at each other again, but Chris ducks another attack from Collins. Chris Andrew springboards off the ropes for a cross body, but Brandon immediately catches him and nails him with an awesome belly to belly suplex that plants Chris' face firmly into the mat. He wastes no time, pulls him back up, and brings him back down to the mat with a Back Suplex neckbreaker that gets an “oof” reaction from the crowd. Understanding that he can't underestimate his young opponent due to that fluke shot, Brandon grabs him by the legs and applies the figure four on him.]

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Here it comes. We are about to see this rook completely give up on his dreams.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Andrew is certainly in a precarious position after being shut down time and again by his veteran opponent.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Watching him destroy a flippy spinning offense dead in its tracks was almost as amazing as watching him break him in only a few moves. But nothing compares to watching this little twerp tap out.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Don't get excited yet, because it looks like this young man is working through the pain.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - There is no possible way he can though. It is over. Quit being optimistic.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - I am just calling the action, and he has yet to tap. It is called being a realist.

[Chris Andrew wriggles around in pain as Brandon applies the pressure on him. Brandon is surprised though as Chris Andrew begins crawling to the ropes. He pulls him backwards as the fans boo any hope of Chris Andrew surviving this submission move. Collins pulls backwards even more, upset that his opponent even tried to fight back from the move. Chris cries out in pain as Brandon knows that he will tap out at any moment now. OUT OF NOWHERE, Chris Andrew crawls under his legs and reverses the move into a small package that no one sees coming.]

...1

...2

...Shoulder Up!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - WHAT THE HELL?

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - See that?! This kid has more tricks up his sleeve than you or Brandon thought.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - What? How? What is happening?

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - What is happening is that Chris Andrew just reversed the hold of a veteran and very nearly stole the victory.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - That was a fluke.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - It very well could have been, but it still nearly cost Collins the match.

[The Veteran gets up, again, taken aback by the fact that this rookie narrowly beat him when he thought he was going to make him tap. He turns around just in time get hit with a superkick from Chris Andrew, whom the fans are all clearly behind at this point. Brandon holds his jaw in pain as the young up and comer takes the offensive.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Again, Chris is showing way more tenacity than was expected of him. Is he getting in his head?

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Absolutely not.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Really? Because he looks upset.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - He is inspired now to make this pain in the ass tap out in front of all of these idiots who dare cheer for him.

[Chris charges at him again with a running hurricanrana ...but Brandon catches it mid-move and angrily lays him out with a Northern Lights Slam. Not just wanting to win the match, but to beat the life out of this spunky young performer, he immediately lifts him up to his feet and follows up with a German Suplex, but he keeps the hold in. Brandon follows up with a second German, and then finally a third. The clinic has officially begun.]

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - And now the veteran is back to work on Chris Andrew, destroying any hope these idiots had in him NOT moving on to the second round of the tournament.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - It seems that those close calls have really lit a fire under Brandon's ass.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Yes, and now watch as he puts this rookie in his place.

[Chris is in the fetal position as an angry and inspired Brandon Collins pulls him up by his hair and brings him back down with a back suplex. Not finished with the young man, he grabs him by the arm and lifts him up again. This time he sends him to the other end of the ring with a Judo toss. Chris Andrew uses the ropes to stand back up, but gets hit with a jumping knee from Brandon. Before he can even recover, he gets rocked with another German, stays locked in, a second, and then a third. He has now taken six German Suplexes from Brandon Collins. He makes the cover.]

…2

….KICKOUT!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - How is this kid staying in this? Collins has thrown a flurry of offense at him, yet he keeps fighting.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Being the first Union Champion is important and I think both men know this. Chris isn't going to let it go that easily.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - He should. He has no chance of winning it.

[Collins is now exceedingly frustrated as he grabs at Chris Andrew and puts him in a cross armbreaker. Caught in the move, Andrew writhes around on the ground. Chris Andrew reaches for the ropes, but just can't grasp them with his good arm. The pressure is applied, but Andrew just will not give up; he isn't going to ruin his chance at moving forward in the tournament. Soon, fans are cheering him on as he begins to pull himself toward the ropes. Collins tightens, but Chris pulls forward just enough to grab onto the bottom rope. Collins is told to break the hold, but he refuses. The ref begins the count and Brandon finally lets go.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Once again, Andrew somehow gets out of that close call by grabbing the ropes and Collins is none to pleased.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Close call? He nearly broke his arm. It would have been easier to tap.

[Instead of arguing with the ref, he becomes even more focused on ending Chris. Chris finally lets go of the ropes, but Brandon grabs him by the legs and immediately locks on single leg Boston Crab. He wrenches on the leg as Chris cries out in pain. The fans are now cheering on Chris even more, while not exactly disrespecting Collins' technical prowess. With the fan support, Chris inches closer and closer to the ropes. Collins tries to pull backwards, but Chris uses all of his momentum and leaps out, grasping the ropes again.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - And again, he just barely gets to the ropes. Even I am surprised at just how much he is managing to avoid defeat.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - It is pointless though. He has already proven just how out of his depth he is.

[Collins doesn't waste time letting go, instead he waits for Chris to release his hold of the rope. He does, it seems as if Collins is targeting the arm again, but Andrew rolls away, bounces off the ropes, and goes charging back towards Brandon ...BUT BRANDON CATCHES HIM AND LAYS HIM OUT WITH A SCOOP SLAM THAT DESTROYS ANY MOMENTUM THAT HE MIGHT HAVE HAD!]

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Every time you point out that Andrew is narrowly averting defeat, Brandon does a move like that keeps the match in his favor.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - And your point is?

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - My point is that no matter how many times he avoids defeat, Brandon knows how to maintain dominance.

[Chris Andrew tries to pull himself up, but instead Brandon stands him up on his feet and nails him with a spinning forearm smash that makes Andrew spin in place due to the impact. Brandon Collins immediately follows up with a reverse DDT to his opponent. Knowing that he can't sustain much more, he covers his chest.]

...1

...2

...KICK OUT!

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - If you are Brandon at this moment, you have to wondering “what is it going to take to put this kid down?”

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - He is handling it all wrong. What is a stupid millennial's worst fear?

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - A world where you can't tweet your ill-informed opinion on the internet?

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - No. If I were Brandon, I would have Chris' mom on the phone and have her threaten to kick his free loading ass out of the basement.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Not ALL Millennials live with their parents.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Yes, they do!

[Brandon springs up, furious that this green new comer just isn't staying down. He is in a ready stance as his opponent, in a daze, tries to get back up to his feet. Chris stumbles forward into Brandon's arms. He performs the Dragon Suplex, but Andrew slides out of it halfway through. The young up and comer charges back at Collins. It seems as though he was trying for a running forearm, but instead Brandon grabs at his head for a cross face. HOWEVER, Chris slips out of his grasp and rolls him up for a school boy pinning attempt that gets an amazing reaction from the fans.]

...1

...2

[Brandon reverses it into a small package.]

...1

...2

[Collins pulls up on the tights; the ref doesn't see it.]

...3

Mike “Drop” Dempsey - Here is your winner and advancing in the Union Championship Tournament ..."The Expert" Brandon Collins!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - WOW! What a reversal. What a win by Brandon Collins tonight. He moves onto the second round and Chris Andrew goes back to tweeting about how Donald Trump didn't really win the election with the rest of his sorry millennial friends.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - But ...didn't you see him pull up on the tights. He might have won, but he did it by pulling one over on the ref.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - None of that matters. What matters is that he used his veteran skills to bury a promising young talent we will probably never see again.

Winner: "The Expert" Brandon Collins via pinfall (schoolboy)

"MATCH" MAKER

≡ ✪✪✪ ≡

[The coffee stand backstage is where we lay our scene. Union Battleground has been searching for it's first champion ever, and tonight some of it's best are battling it out. But not everyone in the building is in competition tonight. We join one Emery Layton, an Irish traveler, as pours the coffee and then the milk into the plastic cup, and then, after stirring it for a few seconds, takes a swig. She nearly gags as soon as it hits her tongue, and lets out a cough.]

EMERY LAYTON - ...My God, that's disgusting without sugar. What am I thinking?

??? - Oh, I see how it is...

[She hears a voice. It's a familiar voice, and not one she's keen on hearing right now. Walking into our view, it's everyone's favourite blonde-haired anti-hero, Alec Villiers. He smirks, as he looks down at Em.]

ALEC VILLIERS - Emery, I'm crushed. Here you are all alone with your coffee when I thought I was gonna be the one to take you out for one?

[Em puts it on the table, like it's got a giant spider in it and she's disposing of it.]

EMERY LAYTON - Well luckily it tastes like shit so you won't have to worry.

ALEC VILLIERS - What's my favourite little Irish spitfire doing here tonight, anyway? Come to visit me when I make my first steps into Union Battleground greatness?

EMERY LAYTON - Not really how I'd put it. See, while you might be doing your thing tonight, I get to dip into this tournament next week. I'll be in there with Hunter Grand, and lemme tell ya, he's in for the fight of his life.

ALEC VILLIERS - Huh.

EMERY LAYTON - Yeah.

ALEC VILLIERS - Well, good. But you're not gonna win though.

EMERY LAYTON - What do you mean?

ALEC VILLIERS - Well you're a cute girl and all but this is my tournament to win. And besides...surely you'd enjoy being on the arm of a champion just as much as--

EMERY LAYTON - Oh my God, don't even finish that sentence. I just narrowly missed throwing up when I drank that coffee, if I hear the rest of that sentence I feel like I'll tempt fate.

[Alec chuckles.]

ALEC VILLIERS - You'll see. Thing is, Emery, you're gonna realise soon that when it's all said and done, we were made for great things, you and I. I was made to be Champion, and you were made to be Mine.

[He winks and walks off, leaving us with Emery, alone.]

EMERY LAYTON - Sleazy gobshite.

[The coffee's not gonna be enough. She reaches her inside pocket and takes a swig from a hipflask, as we continue on with our first show.]

MAKE A "CASE" FOR YOURSELF

≡ ✪✪✪ ≡

[We cut to Axel Graves working away in his office, when we get a POV shot from the doorway. We see a very toned and athletic female figure saunter up towards his desk with what used to be a six pack dangling from her left hand. There was one missing to make it a full six. As the camera pans up to her face, we notice that she is drinking out of the missing can. Once finished, she looks towards the boss' direction.]

Wynona Blake - Mr. Graves,  do ya think you can spare a bit of your time?

[He looks up at her and shakes his head at her presence.]

Axel Graves - I don't know... Wynona, was it?

[Not offended by this, she nods with a sweet smile that hides a persona that is apathetic to most of the world.]

Axel Graves - This is the opening night. I have a lot I need to attend.

[Ignoring what he just said, Wynona takes a seat on his desk, covering up some of his paper work. Before continuing, she takes another swig of her beer while putting the six pack on his desk.]

Wynona Blake - Shucks hun, this will only take a second ...if we see eye to eye that is.

Axel Graves - Is that a threat?

[Wynona tilts her head back laughing at that notion. The truth was she had no idea what she was going to do next at any given moment.]

Wynona Blake - Gosh no, unless you consider getting you to down a few beers with me a threat.

Axel Graves - As tempting as that sounds, again, I'm quite busy tonight. What is it that you want?

[She outstretches on his desk even more, lifting one of her snake skin boots onto it.]

Wynona Blake - Ah just wanted to maybe have a bit of an open dialogue between the two of us about this tournament you are holding to crown the Union Battleground Championship.

Axel Graves - What about it?

Wynona Blake - Ah was jus' thinking that title would look mighty nice around my waist if I ever had the opportunity for it. Gosh, it would be an honor to have the opportunity just to compete on this little show you have here.

[He shakes his head, not unsympathetically.]

Axel Graves - I am sorry, Miss Blake, but the tournament has been set. Looks like you're a little too late.

Wynona Blake - Are ya sure you can't make an exception for little ol' me.

Axel Graves - I'm sorry, but I have fighters from around the world; from elite federations competing for this opportunity. While I appreciate your drive, I'm not convinced you are up to snuff to even compete here in general... At least, right now.

[Taking this revelation on the chin a bit, she doesn't lose her positive attitude and continues to smile.]

Wynona Blake - Ah don't doubt that you have some of the best competitors in the world, but I think ya will find, if given a chance, I can stand toe to toe with them.

[He looked at her, listened to her, thought for a moment, and then looked at what was formerly a six pack of beer on his desk. He looks back up at her, grinning.]

Axel Graves - I can't promise you anything right now, but maybe down the line, I'll give you an opportunity to make a "case" for yourself.

[She jumps up from his desk in excitement over this, as he nods, understanding her enthusiasm.]

Wynona Blake - Shug, that is about all I needed to hear. I just need you to leave the window open a bit... So I can back up my semi.

Axel Graves - We'll talk more about it later. For now, I got to get back to work.

[She grabs her case of beer, snapping off one, and leaving it for him. Wynona then struts out of his office, confident that she will be able to sell him on her as a full time employee of the company.]

CHLOE'S CORNER W/ CHLOE DRISCOLL & TREVOR MILLER

≡ ✪✪✪ ≡

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Folks welcome back to L!GHTS OUT. Earlier today our very own Senior Correspondent Chloe Driscoll sat down with the high-flyer from the XWA, Trevor Miller, to get some insight from the young upstart. Let's take a look.

[The scene opens with the lovely Chloe Driscoll sitting in the director’s seat of the freshly knew Chloe’s Corner.]

Chloe Driscoll - Ladies and Gentleman, it is my pleasure to sit down on the very first show with one of Union Battlegrounds stars Trevor Miller!

Trevor Miller - Thanks for having me, Chloe! And welcome to Union Battleground.

Chloe Driscoll - Thank you for the welcome and thank you for being the very first person to sit down with me.

[Chloe looks over at him and smiles!]

Chloe Driscoll - Well I have had the opportunity to do a little bit of research on who you are, you are originally from the XWA? My question is are you representing the XWA here in Union Battleground?

Trevor Miller - Yeah, I spoke with the office over at XWA and asked for my leave of absence to make my debut here at the Battleground, they were very kind to let me come over and represent them.

Chloe Driscoll - I want to touch on your early days before we move on to the present. When you debuted in the XWA you were part of a stable called the Outsiders, right?

Trevor Miller - Correct.

Chloe Driscoll - Is there a chance that we could see that group reform here in Union Battleground?

Trevor Miller - A reunion is unlikely, but they may be in the crowd for some matches of mine. But I don’t think we’ll reunite any time soon.

Chloe Driscoll - So earlier you stated that you are here representing the XWA, does that mean you are here on a part time basis or here for the long hall?

Trevor Miller - Currently I’m here part-time. But who knows, I may become a full-timer in the future. It’s all based on my performance and how I feel.

Chloe Driscoll - Well speaking of performance, you are scheduled to face Malcolm Dred-King in the opening round for the Union Championship Tournament as well on the very first L!GHTS OUT show. Can you touch base on how you are feeling?

Trevor Miller - Oh, just the basics. Nervous, Excited. Clearly, it isn’t my first rodeo, but it’s something about matches that make you feeling that way all the time. Expect to be entertained, event after event. Win or lose, I feel good knowing that I went out there and entertained the hell out of the crowd.

Chloe Driscoll - I want to thank you again for taking time out to be the first star here on Chloe’s Corner!

Trevor Miller - Thank you for being a gracious host.

[Chloe looks over at the camera and blows a kiss as the scene fades to ringside,]

TREVOR MILLER vs MALCOLM DRED-KING

≡ ✪✪✪ ≡

Mike "Drop" Dempsey - The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is part of the Union Championship Tournament. Coming to the ring at this time, standing 5'10" and weighing in at 203 lbs., from Alton, Illinois, representing the XWA, Trevor Miller!

♫ WINGS BY MODERN DAY BABYLON BEGINS TO PLAY ♫

[As the song Wings by Modern Day Babylon hits the area speakers, Trevor waits backstage till the moments right to exit onto the stage. He walks out and stops on the ramp. He bends down and quickly shooting up to show a peace sign, which is made by his index and middle finger, Pyrotechnics go off soon after. He continues on his way towards the steel steps leading to the ring, he stops and lets out a smirk, he runs up the steel steps. He uses the ropes to jump into the ring, there he turns to the nearest corner and climbs it. He breaths in and closes his eyes, once again putting up a peace sign with is index and middle fingers. He jumps down as the music fades, leaning against the ropes, waiting for the start of the match.]

Mike "Drop" Dempsey - And his opponent, from Hartford, Connecticut, standing at 6'2" and weighing in tonight at 249 lbs., "The Question Beyond X" Malcolm Dred-King!

♫ WITH VICE I HOLD THE MIC DEVICE, WITH FORCE I KEEP IT AWAY OF COURSE... ♫

[The lights dim down and a single spotlight hits the main stage. A thunderous explosion of fireworks rocks the arena and "Prophets of Rage" by Public Enemy begins to play. Malcolm Dred-King emerges from the backstage and the crowd roars in cheers as MDK takes a moment to look on throughout the crowd. Dred-King does a quick pose, flexing his guns and then sprints down the ramp. He tags a few stretched out hands as he makes his way to ringside. He keeps his tempo as he slides into the ring, and runs the ropes a couple of times. He stops in the center of the ring, looks out into the crowd once more, and raises his arms. MDK then takes his shirt off and heads over to corner.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - This should be a high octane bout, Dick.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Two fan-favorites here and yes, I don't expect to see any stalling in this one.

[Ding]

[The two competitors meet in the center of the ring, and each extend a hand out to offer a welcoming gesture of respect. The two now circle around and Miller makes the first move going for a swift roundhouse kick, but MDK ducks it. MDK counters with a leg sweep, but Miller counters that with a back handspring. Miller comes in for a close line, but again MDK ducks and is able to get a waist lock in on Miller. Trevor leans into Dred-King to try and pop the hold, but soon goes for some back elbows to MDK's face. MDK finally ducks an elbow shot, sending Miller spinning around, and MDK connects with a belly-to-belly suplex. Miller stands back up quickly, an evades a close line attempt, and then connects with a vicious super kick.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - These two are wasting no time, throwing out some high tempo offense.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - I'm getting dizzy!

[MDK lays out grasping his jaw, all the while Miller springboards off the ropes and hits a running shooting star press. Miller makes a quick cover.]

...1

...2, and an obvious quick kick out

[Miller, undeterred, begins to stomp MDK then hits a knee drop onto MDK. Malcolm rolls out to the outside apron to regain his composure, and stands himself up using the ropes. Miller closes in on MDK, but gets drilled with a shoulder check into his midsection. Dred-King springs off the top rope and hits Trevor with a missle  drop kick, sending him to his back.  MDK picks up Miller and delivers a northern lights suplex, rocking the ring. MDK stays locked in for the pin.]

...1

...2, and a kick out.

[MDK gets up, and pulls Miller up with him. Miller breaks free and connects with an Enzuigiri. Trevor continues the attack and springs off the middle rope, landing a beautiful moonsault. Trevor now picks up Malcolm, and hits a northern lights suplex of his own. But he doesn't stop there, he deadlifts Dred-King up and hits him with a vertical suplex, getting the crowd riled up.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - These two are showing some great tenacity here tonight! This tournament obviously means a lot to them.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Yeah, Doc. And Miller especially, he's representing the XWA in the Battleground!

[Miller pops back up to his feet, and goes to pick up MDK. Miller gets him off his back, and suddenly MDK pulls him down to the ground and locks in an Anaconda Vice. Miller is wincing in pain, but shows no sign of giving up. Miller muscles his way to the ropes, and stretches out to make the rope break. MDK releases the hold and gets to his feet. Before Miller has a chance to stand, he gets greeted with a shining wizard kick to MDK, sending him back to the mat. MDK sees the opportunity, and climbs to the top turnbuckle. Malcolm gestures to the crowd to make some noise, and then hits a 450 splash, hooks the leg and makes the cover.]

...1

...2

...No! A narrow escape by Miller!

[The impact of that splash took a toll on both competitors. Both are slow to get up, but once they do, they lock horns in a collar and elbow tie up. MDK uses his strength to send Miller to the ropes. Trevor takes action into his own hands and springboards off the middle rope and lands on MDK's shoulders in an electric chair position. Miller spins around and hits a hurricanrana. The momentum sends MDK to the outside. Trevor Miller bounces off the opposite ropes and comes back to connect with an amazing corkscrew plancha.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - The action spills out to ringside, and Miller executes a stunning dive to the outside!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - That was simply phenomenal! I... am... speechless!

[Miller picks Dred-King up and the two begin to trade strikes. Miller blocks a shot by Malcolm, and goes to whip him into the barricade. MDK's superior strength however stops in his tracks, reverses the whip, and flattens Miller with a short-range close line. The referee begins his count.]

...1

...2

...3

[Dred-King picks Miller up and delivers a powerbomb onto the ring apron. Miller is in obvious pain now, clinching his lower back. MDK lays Miller on the edge of the apron, climbs into the ring, and brings Miller inside with a standing second rope vertical suplex. MDK continues the attack, pickingMiller up and sending him into the corner post. MDK slowly comes over, and begins to slap Miller across the chest with some knife-edge chops. Each one getting a "WOO!" response from the crowd.]

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - WOO! Wheelin' dealin'...

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - ... Don't.

[MDK ceases his chops, and his pause gives Miller enough time to land a couple of boots to MDK's midsection. He flips the script and throws Malcolm into the corner. Miller stands up on the the middle ropes and delivers a 10-count of lunches, rallying the crowd. He drops to the canvas, and whips MDK into the ropes, Miller has a close line evaded and the two bounce back from the ropes and Miller goes for a cross body, but MDK catches him in mid-air and connects with the Shattered Realities! MDK slams Miller right square in the center of the ring, and rolls up to lock in the crippler crossface. Miller is fighting with everything he has left in his body, but MDK's strength is too much to gain any ground towards the ropes. Miller has no choice but to tap!]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Shattered Realities out of nowhere! This one's over!

[Ding ding ding]

Mike "Drop" Dempsey - And your winner by submission, and advancing to the next round of the Union Championship Tournament, "The Question Beyond X" Malcolm Dred-King!

[MDK released the hold and stands to raise his arms in victory. He looks over to Miller, and helps pick him up. The two embrace in a bro-hug, and the two raise each others arms as the crowd cheers on.]

Winner: Malcolm Dred-King via submission (Shattered Realities)

RINGSIDE WITH THE TRIPLE CROWN CHAMPION

≡ ✪✪✪ ≡

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Ladies and gentlemen, what a spectacular match we just witnessed. Quite possibly the match of the night. But now I want to turn things over to what we witnessed earlier tonight. As you may recall, we saw the UWL Triple Crown Champion Drew Stevenson spotted here in attendance, and right now we have our very own Savannah Skye down at ringside to speak to the multi-crowned champion. Take it away, Skye!

Savannah Skye - Thank you, Dante. Standing next to me is a man who currently holds multiple championships, most notably the UWL Triple Crown Title, and Mr. Stevenson, I'd first like to ask you, what are your initiate thoughts of Union Battleground? There are a lot of competitors you are familiar with...

Drew Stevenson - … Yes there are and the competition looks fantastic here. You have so many great competitors, all of them looking to be the best but as we both know: only one of them will walk out as the top dog.

Savannah Skye - You keep yourself busy, traveling and competing all over for several companies. We've watched you in the EWC's King of the Cage tournament, something you've said you haven't done in quite some time. And we are all awaiting your big matchup against Blake Algood in a No Ropes, KO Only Match at the DARC Birthday Bash. Is there anything you would like to say for those big events?

Drew Stevenson - Well King of the Cage happened last month and out of THIRTY THREE of the BEST to grace the industry, I managed to come in third. It's not the place that I was originally hoping for but hey, Amber Ryan is one hell of a competitor and I respect her greatly. As far as my big fight in DARC goes — you know, it WAS turning out to be a great match, arguably the best that DARC would have ever seen. However, Blake Algood thought it was cute to try pissing on my legacy and he's REAL lucky that I decided not to re-sign with the company because hell; what does some kid with one match under his belt know about this business? He wants to piss on MY legacy? Please kid, go put another needle in your arm, get Darryl to give you a reach around and keep being excited for the fact that you’re one victory closer to having your ass whooped by Scooby Doo!

Savannah Skye - Strong words from the Emerald Champ. And finally, my boss has instructed me not to ask, but Twitter is blowing up wanting to know, will we see a Drew Stevenson appearance at any point here in the Union Battleground?

Drew Stevenson - If you’re referring to the fact of me stepping into that ring, then tell your boss to contact me.

Savannah Skye - Well there you have it folks! There seems to be some initial interest from the Triple Crown Champion, Mr. Graves, it sounds like the ball is in your court! Mr. Stevenson thank you so much for your time; back to you, Dante!

HOW WINNERS DO IT

≡ ✪✪✪ ≡

[A clearly frustrated Trevor Miller is shown backstage with his XWA co-worker Emery Layton by his side. He appears dejected sitting on a random equipment box with his held hung low. Trevor was removing his wrist tape when a slow clapping sound can be heard in the distance. He looked up & immediately grew irritated to see Alec Villiers smugly approaching him.]

the anaheim vice : ALEC VILLIERS - What a performance! No seriously the only way that could've gone any worse would have been if you lost...oh wait...you did that too!

[Growing angry Miller immediately stood up & got into Alec's face. The always arrogant Villiers backed away a few steps with a smirk on his face. He then chuckled to himself a little bit.]

the anaheim vice : ALEC VILLIERS - Woah...woah...woah. Let cooler heads prevail here alright? You'd be costing this company it's most lucrative signing if you didn't. The loss you had tonight would be nothing compared to what my lawyers would do to you if you put my career in any jeopardy.

[Trevor Miller appearing visually upset eventually listened to reason and began to calm himself. Appearing more confident about his situation, Alec Villiers continued on.]

the anaheim vice : ALEC VILLIERS - So how about you do yourself the favor & watch how a real competitor makes good on his promises, main eventers deliver. I am going to prove that to you & my dearest Emery... Make sure you stay near the television set. That way you can tell me how amazed she looks when I put on a performance nobody will ever soon be forgetting.

[Villiers chuckled then ran his hands through his hair. He then flicked the excess water off of it away from him & Miller. Alec patted him on the shoulder & began to stroll off leaving a fuming Trevor Miller behind him. The camera zooms in on the angered face of Miller before the scene switches gears.]

ALEC VILLIERS vs SAKAGUCHI KYOSHI

≡ ✪✪✪ ≡

Mike "Drop" Dempsey - The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and is part of the Union Championship tournament. Coming to the ring at this time, standing 5'8" and weighing in at 195 lbs. hailing from Tokyo, Japan, he is Sakaguchi Kyoshi!

♫ KARATE BY BABY METAL BEGINS TO PLAY ♫

[The lights are cut. "Karate" by Baby Metal begins to play as blue, red, and yellow strobe lights flash through the blackness. Sakaguchi Kyoshi steps onto the stage through the flashing lights with his suit wearing sleazeball of a manager, Justin King. Kyoshi walks to the ring, high fiving fans as he walks. Kyoshi steps between the ropes as Justin King takes his position at ringside.]

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - I'm anxious to see this young man. He's a rookie, so he's got the element of the unknown as an x-factor.

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Indeed, Dick. Kyoshi may be a "Young Lion", but from what film I have seen of this guy from Japan, his opponent better bring his A-Game.

Mike "Drop" Dempsey - And his opponent, standing at 6' even, weighing in tonight at 220 lbs., from Anaheim, California, Alec Villiers!

♫ COME ON FEEL THE NOISE BY OASIS BEGINS TO PLAY ♫

[Alec Villiers burst out onto the stage. He panders to the crowd before turning his back to them. He points to the various graffiti across his jacket. Villiers spins to face the crowd again. He proceeds to make his walk down the entrance ramp. The entire way down taunting the crowd looking on. Alec Villiers walks up the steps & prepares to enter the ring. He stops momentarily to turn back to the audience yet again. He shouts at them & continues with a few more gestures. Alec finally gets inside the ring where he begins to remove his jacket. Villiers stepped up onto the middle turnbuckle to boast more. He throws his jacket down to the floor outside. Alec Villiers steps down the goes to his designated corner. There he waits eagerly for the match to begin.]

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - You know what, Dante? I like this guy! He's a lady killer, I see a lot of myself in him!

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Ha! Well I don't know if I'd go that far, but indeed he seems quite popular with his female fan base, sans Emery Layton, apparently. Villiers and Kyoshi are in their respective corners as referee Joe Murray calls for the bell and this match is underway!

[Ding]

[Kyoshi stands in his corner as Villiers takes his time undressing from his attire. Villiers takes his denim jacket off and tosses it to the outside. He slowly walks towards Kyoshi and takes his bandana off in the process. He throws it in Kyoshi's face, yelling "Keep it, that's worth more than what they're paying you". This draws boos from the crowd, yet Kyoshi takes the high road and ignores the baited taunt. Villiers and Kyoshi draw near to each other in the center of the ring. They both have an intense look and begin to circle each other, planning for an attack. A collar and elbow tie is initiated, and Villiers takes to the offensive with a headlock. The two backpedal into the ropes, and Kyoshi sends Villiers into an Irish whip. Villiers springs back and ducks a close line attempted by Kyoshi, springs off the ropes and comes back to be greeted with a shoulder check sending him down to the mat. Kyoshi immediately goes for an elbow drop, but Villiers rolls away from it. The two pop up quickly, and Villiers shoots in for a double leg takedown. Villiers slides up and clamps in a headlock. Kyoshi gets to all fours, and sits out to escape the hold. Villiers springs off the ropes and connects with a stiff drop kick to the back of Kyoshi's head. ]

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Both of these guys are flying right out of the gate!

[Kyoshi winces in pain, as Villiers picks him up by his hair. Villiers lands a couple punches, and whips Kyoshi into the ropes. Villiers attempts a roundhouse kick, but Kyoshi ducks, and comes back with a close line attempt, but Villiers now ducks. Kyoshi comes back once more off the ropes, and connects with a tilt-a-whirl DDT.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Kyoshi connects with a beautiful tilt-a-whirl DDT!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - The Anaheim Vice got rocked on that one!

[Kyoshi goes for a quick cover.]

...1

...2

... Kick out!

[Villiers gets a quick kick out, and staggers up to his feet. Kyoshi squares up and begins a combination of quick strikes. Kyoshi finishes with a roundhouse heel lock that sends Villiers into the corner.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - The crowd is really starting to get behind the Young Lion, Sakaguchi Kyoshi!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - His aggressive offense is keeping Villiers on his heels.

[Villiers is looking groggy, grasping the ropes to stay upright. Kyoshi sprints from the opposite post and catapults himself to land a fierce splash. Kyoshi runs back, and connects with a second splash. The crowd is getting riled up, and Kyoshi goes for a third one, but gets layer out by a big boot to Villiers.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Villiers with the big boot sends Sakaguchi to the mat!

[Villiers now sees his opportunity, and hops up to stand on the middle ropes in the corner post. He connects with a driving knee to Kyoshi's head. Alec pops back up, and delivers a hard elbow drop to the back of Kyoshi. He pops up again, and connects with a leg drop. Villiers now

Goes for the quick cover.]

...1

...2

... Kick out!

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Villiers with a quick cover, not not enough to put him away.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - A guy like Alec should know it's going to take more than that to end it.

[Villiers argues a little bit with the ref's pace, but gets up and starts to continuously stomp on the back on Kyoshi's head. The ref eventually pulls Villiers off, and gives him a warning. The Anaheim Vice picks up Kyoshi and heads over to the turnbuckle. He begins to slam Sakaguchi's face into the corner for a 10-count. Kyoshi drops to his knees and face plants into the middle buckle, and Villiers begins to unhinge the top turnbuckle. He gets about halfway through and the ref pulls him off, signaling a second warning. Alec brushes the ref off, and goes back to Kyoshi. He picks him up once again, and begins to run Kyoshi's face across the ropes, then finishes off the dirty tactic with a Russian leg sweep. Villiers climbs up to the top and connects with a devastating elbow drop, and then goes for the cover.]

...1

...2

...3, No!

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Kyoshi barely kicked out. He's looking a bit wore down.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher -Villiers is really laying it into the rookie, here. Kyoshi needs to regain momentum if he plans to beat Villiers.

[Kyoshi and Villiers stand up. Villiers lays a couple strikes to Kyoshi, but Kyoshi blocks the fourth one and counters with a few of his own. Villiers counters back, and returns the strikes again. Now the two exchange blows back and forth. Kyoshi ducks and sends Villiers spinning. Kyoshi picks Villiers up from behind and nails him with a blue thunder bomb. But in that process, Kyoshi clips the ref with Villiers legs, sending the ref into la la land. Kyoshi makes a cover.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Kyoshi delivers the blue thunder bomb and makes a cover, but referee Joe Murray is out cold!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Murray is sawing logs right now!

[Sakaguchi looks to notice the ref is out, and throws Villiers leg down in frustration. He picks Villiers up, but halfway up Villiers connects with a low blow. Kyoshi drops like a sack of potatoes. Villiers gains his composure and immediately goes back to the turnbuckle he was working on earlier.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - A low blow by the Anaheim Vice! What a disgrace!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Hey in the Battleground, you gotta do what it takes to win!

[Villiers finally fully exposes the corner. Kyoshi regains his composure, notices what Villiers is doing and runs over to make a stop. Villiers in the last second drops down to hit an ankle pick variation to send Kyoshi face first into the exposed turnbuckle. Kyoshi in a daze stumbles back and Villiers then pokes him in the eyes. Sakaguchi bends over, palming his eyes, and then Villiers connects with the ATL (leg drop bulldog). He rushes over the ref and slaps him around until he regains consciousness, and then Villiers runs over to make the cover.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Villiers connects with the All Time Low and goes for the cover!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - This is it!

Mike "Drop" Dempsey - And your winner by pinfall, and advancing to the next round of the Union Championship Tournament, "The Anaheim Vice" Alec Villiers!

SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS WITH AXEL GRAVES

≡ ✪✪✪ ≡

[As we return from the commercial break, Axel is seen standing at the top of the entrance ramp, with a mic already in hand. His music is playing, but slowly dying down as he makes an announcement.]

Axel Graves - Ladies and Gentlemen, what a night we've seen so far! I gotta tell ya, even after watching the films and reading the scouting reports, all of these competitors have surprised and impressed! We've witnessed Brandon Collins, Malcolm Dred-King, and Alec Villiers all advance to the Elite Eight round, and we still have our main event tonight to get to yet.

[A mixture of cheers and jeers as each name that advanced were announced. The biggest pop came from the announcement of MDK's name being called.]

Axel Graves - But before we do, I want to announce the matches for our next show, which will cap off the end of the opening round to the Union Championship tournament. DICK DEVEREAUX vs DRAGASHA OMEGA

≡ ✪✪✪ ≡

Mike "Drop" Dempsey - Tonight's Main Event is schedule for one fall, and is part of the Union Championship Tournament. Coming to the ring at this time, standing 6'3" and weighing 243 lbs, from Washington DC, representing Death Trip Wrestling, "The Butcher" Dick Devereaux!

♫ YOU FUCKING BLEED NOW! ♫

["Everyone Bleeds Now" By Hatebreed suddenly hits and the lights begin to flash violently to the beat. The ramp puts out smoke as red lasers begin to strobe around the arena. Dick Devereaux comes out from the back through the smoke with an irritated look spread across his face and a water bottle in hand. He comes to the edge of the ramp as he extends both arms towards the sky with his middle fingers pointed out at the crowd. He looks around before he begins to nod his head to the beat and begins to pour the water bottle over his head.

He tosses the water bottle into the audience as he continues to nod his head to the beat. He begins to bend over as he holds his bald head. He then violently starts to bang his head as he begins to punch himself over and over again. Dick then flips his wet head up and raises his fists before lowering them and beginning down the ramp. Dick is now at the end of the ramp as he runs and hops up onto the apron. He looks around before holding up his middle fingers outwards towards the crowd. He then slowly brings them down to the camera and spews off a few hateful words before stepping into the ring through the ropes.

Dick walks over to the farthest turnbuckle and steps to the second rope. He looks around and then bends down and starts to head bang, letting water from his head soak the crowd below. He then flips his head up and raises his fists slowly before hopping down. Dick walks over to the ropes and steps on the middle one with his right leg and the bottom one with his left as he bounces on the ropes, staring at the crowd. His music dies down as Dick ditches his leather jacket and waits in the corner, pacing back and forth ready for the attack.]

Mike "Drop" Dempsey - And his opponent, residing from The Cave, standing 6'2" and weighing in tonight at 190 lbs, representing the EWC, she is Dragasha Omega!

♫ I'M GOOD, I'M GOOD, I'M GREAT... ♫

[Party Monster by The Weeknd began playing through the arena audio system. After a few seconds, Dragasha Omega walked out onto the stage. She stood there for a moment, raising both arms above her head, posing for the fans who booed her. Dragasha then began walking down the ramp, slowly lowering her arms.

Dragasha reached the ring and stood for a moment, looking around at the arena. Basking in the boos, Dragasha smiled as she climbed into the ring. She walked to the nearest turnbuckle and climbed it, posing for the crowd. Dragasha jumped down from the second rope, and turned, crouching in the corner, waiting for the match to start as her music died down. When the bell rang, she stood up slowly.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - DDT, I would have to say, this is by far the biggest match in the opening round of the tournament, agreed?

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Absolutely, Dante! Without a doubt, both of these competitors could easily run the table and hoist the championship. In a way, both of them drew the short straw of the seedlings because someone is leaving the Bullring tonight eliminated from the tournament, while the other may very well take it all home!

[The bell rings and the main event begins. Dick and Dragasha charge at each other. Dick, larger of the two, takes control, using his superior strength. Getting behind her, Dick takes Dragasha down with an Inverted DDT. Dragasha goes down hard, and before she can recover, Dick drops an elbow on her, followed by another, and then a third. Dick grabbed Dragasha by the hair, pulling the redhead to her feet, and then rebounded off the ropes for a massive clothesline. Dick then went to pull Dragasha to her feet again, but Dragasha countered with a Fireman Carry, slamming Dick to the mat.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Devereaux comes in this match-up with the clear size advantage, but Omega can obviously hold her own with that Fireman's carry slam.

[Dragasha hit Dick with a Dropkick when he got up, and then she followed up with a Hurricanrana, but Dick countered with a powerbomb, slamming her to the mat. Dragasha rolled away groaning, and ducked a Lou Thesz Press. Dick slammed into the mat, and Dragasha grabbed him off the mat and took him down with a huge German Suplex. She held on, and rolled into a second, releasing it afterwards. Dick got to his feet, and before Dragasha could respond, he was powering her backwards, into a corner.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Dick gets rocked by those German Suplexes, but it doesn't seem to phase him too much.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Devereaux to me seems like the type of guy who enjoys pain.

[Dick began thrusting his shoulder into Dragasha’s midsection. When he stopped, Dragasha dropped to her knees, but Dick stayed on the offensive. He went for the Pipe Bomb, but Dragasha countered it with a Sleeper Hold. Dick was slightly taller, but she managed to get the right leverage. Dick flailed for a moment, trying to break free, but Dragasha had it locked in. Dick then rammed Dragasha backwards into the turnbuckle. She held on, and he did it again. It took several attempts for her to release it.

Stumbling forward, Dick didn’t see Dragasha climb the turnbuckle. When he turned, she jumped. Instead of dodging, Dick caught her out of the air on his shoulders. The crowd screamed “DICK IS GONNA KILL YOU!” Dick hit the Pipebomb, this time, and laid Dragasha out. Dick got to his knees and hooked Dragasha’s leg, pinning her.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Dick hits the Pipebomb! This one could be over early!

...1

...2

...3, NO! KICK OUT!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Oh my god! I can't believe Dragasha kicked out!

[The crowd popped as Dragasha kicked out. Dick grunted before pulling Dragasha to her feet and whipping her into the ropes. On the return trip, Dragasha hit Dick with a Jumping Knee Attack, busting him open. Dick reeled back, and Dragasha stayed on the attack. With a DDT, she sent him to the mat before running to corner and springing to the top. She went for the Pain from Purgatory. Dick rolled out of the way, and Dragasha just managed to tuck and roll to avoid injuring her legs. Dick was to his feet first, and he again grabbed Dragasha by the hair. Dick hit a Sidewalk Slam, taking Dragasha to the mat. He followed up with an Elbow Drop to her face, and her still healing nose. Dick hit the Hand Grenade, and then picked her up and hit the Pipebomb again before covering her.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Another Pipebomb!

... Kick Out!

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - You gotta be kidding me!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - Dragasha has ate two Pipebombs now, and she still somehow managed to keep herself alive in this match!

[Dick grunted in annoyance as she kicked out. Dragasha rolled to her feet a bit shakily. Dick charged her with a clothesline, but she leaned back, her hands touching the mat, and he missed. She stood back up, and turned around in time to kick him in the gut and hit him with the Dragon Dream. Dick hit the mat, and the crowd popped. Dragasha rolled to a corner and crouched. A moment later, as Dick was getting to his feet, she snapped up and roared across the ring. Unable to stop her momentum when Dick sidestepped her, Dragasha slammed shoulder first into the opposite ringpost. Dick laughed as he pulled her out of the corner and went for the Pipebomb. Dragasha countered, sliding off his back, and then hit the Dragon Destroyer. Dragasha went for a pin.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Omega with the Dragon Destroyer! What a momentum shift, she looks to end it now!

...3! No, a razor thin kick out!

[Dragasha got to her feet and lifted Dick to his hands and knees. She then hit a Jumping Curb Stomp, driving his face to the mat. Dick rolled over in pain, his nose bleeding as he got to his feet. They began brawling, now. Dick, the larger and likely stronger of the two, used brute force, whereas Dragasha focused on strategic shots. Dick took Dragasha to her knees with a good shot to the gut. He went to finish the series, but Dragasha grabbed him, pushing him through the ropes and dumping him outside the ring.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Devereaux is overpowering her!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - But Omega is picking her spots and gets he upper hand!

[Catching her breath for a moment, Dragasha stood and went over the ropes with a Tope Atomico. Dick caught her, though, and powerbombed her onto the apron, making her groan in pain. Dick then hit an Overhead Belly to Belly Suplex, tossing her into the ringpost upside down. Picking her up, Dick gestured to the crowd before successfully hitting a third Pipebomb. Dick picked Dragasha up and rolled her into the ring, and followed after her, and then covered her.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - This is it!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - She can't possibly take anymore punishment!

...KICK OUT AGAIN!

[The camera's hot mic caught Dick yelling “What the fuck!?” before pulling her to her feet, and hitting another Pipebomb and covering her.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - PIPEBOMB NUMBER FOUR!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - This is getting ridiculous! The ref needs to stop this match!

...3! NO! Another kick out!

[As Dick got to his knees, the crowd began chanting “DICK CAN’T KILL YOU!” This annoyed the bald brawler and he yanked Dragasha to her feet, looking as if he was going to go for a fifth Pipebomb, but Dragasha punched him in the gut and stood. She ducked under him, and struggled to stand back up with him on her shoulders. Dragasha went for a T5, but Dick countered into a Spinning DDT. Rolling over in pain, both eyed each other. Dick got to his feet first, and he rushed Dragasha into a corner, where he began laying into her midsection. When he backed off, he turned his back on Dragasha, and she caught him with a Feral Dragon Trap. Flailing around, Dick made it to the ropes before the move did any damage. When Dick turned around, Dragasha went for a Jawbreaker, but Dick countered with a poke to the eye, and then a Spinebuster.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Dirty tactic to avoid Dragasha's offensive.

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - What'd I say earlier, Dante? You gotta do whatever it takes to win in the Battleground!

[Pulling Dragasha to her feet, Dick made a gestured to the crowd, and Dragasha capitalized by grabbing his hand, yanking him around as she ducked under him, and managed to get him up for the Dragon Imprint. The crowd popped as Dragasha covered Dick for a pin.]

...2, kick out!

[Dick easily kicked out, and Dragasha grunted as she stood. Dick rose a few seconds later, and she ducked him, hitting three quick German Suplexes. Dick groggily rolled into a crouching position. Dragasha hit Dick with a Dropkick that knocked him to the mat. Dragasha rolled him over before locking in the Feral Dragon Wrap. Dick squirmed under her, but the hold was locked in. Struggling, Dick refused to tap out. He managed to begin crawling towards the ropes, and Dragasha released the hold. Standing, she pulled him to his feet. Making a gesture to the crowd, Dragasha tried to lift Dick up for her Dragon Imprint, but he wiggled out of it.]

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Quick escape from Devereaux.

[Dick shoved Dragasha forward, and when she turned around, he hit her with a Samoan Drop, slamming her to the mat. Dragasha rolled over and Dick kicked her in the gut, making her roll over in pain. Picking her up, Dick whipped Dragasha into the ropes. On the return trip, she ducked a Clothesline, and rebounded off the opposite ropes, ducking a second Clothesline, and on the third run, she collided with Dick for a massive Spear. She covered him for a pin.]

... KICK OUT!

[Dragasha moved to the turnbuckle, climbing and perching. When Dick stood, Dragasha jumped, going for a Hurricanrana. Dick countered with a Catching Sit-Out Powerbomb, slamming Dragasha to the mat with force. He covered her for a pin.]

...KICK OUT!

[Dick grunted in anger, now, and yanked Dragasha up by her red hair. He went for a standing Clothesline, but she ducked under it. He put so much force into it that he turned and Dragasha got behind him. Reaching for his hand, Dragasha managed to pull it around, and then lifted him up. Dragasha herself was no lightweight, but Dick was even bigger than she was. Yet, Dragasha took several steps, exhibiting her strength before taking Dick to the mat with the Dragon Imprint. The crowd exploded as Dragasha rolled Dick into a cover.]

...3!

... NO, KICKOUT!!! KICKOUT!!!

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - How much more can these competitors take?

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - The brutality is making my heart flutter! Where is my blood pressure medicine?!

[Dragasha grunted, having looked to end the match with her most dangerous finisher. Rolling to his knees, Dick punched Dragasha in the gut before picking her up and hitting a fifth Pipebomb. Dragasha was sprawled on the mat, now, and Dick covered her for a pin.]

...3!

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Devereaux did it! It took an astounding five Pipebombs, but "The Butcher" has slain the Dragon!

"Diamond" Dick Thrasher - This is absolutely insane! Devereaux is a 10 on the Muta Scale, but he delivered the win and advances on to the Elite Eight round! I still can't believe what I just witnessed here tonight!

Mike "Drop" Dempsey - Here is your winner by pinfall, "The Butcher" Dick Devereaux!

"The Doctor" Dante Reed - Ladies and Gentlemen that's all the time we have here tonight, but join us next time as we continue and complete the second half of the opening round to the Union Championship Tournament at the Convention Center in Tucson, Arizona featuring the Carnage Wrestling UltraViolent Icon, Tweeder, as our Main Event!
