SO TURN THE LIGHTS OUT!

♫

[As "Lights Out" by Royal Blood kicks in to overdrive, we open up with a montage of some of the biggest moments in Union Battleground's short history. An explosion engulfs the screen as we transition to the arena. At the conclusion of the opening montage, we transition to a captivating aerial view of the ring, with the canvas and aprons murdered out in black and the ropes in a deep crimson red with a red eroded star in the center. An exquisite light show bounces all through the Royal Albert Hall to encapsulate an all round intoxicating aura. Luke Knux and the Scumbag Society are ripping through one of their singles from their newest album “Insomnia” as camera angles pan throughout the crowd.]

[The Scumbag Society finish off with an epic finale as we switch gears over to the broadcast booth to see the voices of Union Battleground.]

Dante Reed - Welcome ladies and gentlemen, we are live here at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico in front of a 7,200 rabid fans and this is L!GHTS OUT #24! I am your host “The Doctor” Dante Reed and alongside me as always is none other than Sebastian Riggs!

Sebastian Riggs - Dante as always, we are ready to bring you some of best that this industry has to offer. Tonight, our scheduled main event will have the King Cobra Champion herself, Emery Layton, back in action since War of the Worlds, taking on a man who’s been lighting up the highlight reels, “The Bullet King” Alex Kincaid. This will surely be another contest that can be added to the reels.

Dante Reed - Tonight we will also have another one of the four horsemen medallions up for grabs as Joe Stanton takes on the debuting Magdalena.

Sebastian Riggs - Magdalena is part of this very cryptic and mysterious group with Caden Walker that’s been led by Miss Sarin. At L!GHTS OUT #22, Stanton bested Caden Walker in a bit of an upset, but now he goes up against another protégé of Miss Sarin, some who’ve claimed is even more dangerous than Walker. This bout will be interesting to see who comes out victorious with that medallion.

Dante Reed - And speaking of debuts and War Horse Medallions, tonight we see the highly anticipated debut of Elena DeDraca, who will take on Josie Pleasure.

Sebastian Riggs - Elena DeDraca has a certain fighter’s pedigree that obviously must be hereditary, as proven by her shared mentality with her brother Finn Whelan. Like Whelan, DeDraca is a top Champion in WWH, but we can’t overlook the self proclaimed “Psycho Bitch” Josie Pleasure either. Josie had a rough start to her Battleground career, but two weeks ago she picked up a huge victory over Danny Colt and earned herself a War Horse Medallion. She’s going to want to carry that momentum into tonight and into the War Horse Title Match.

Dante Reed - You mention momentum, I don’t think there’s anyone in Union Battleground right now that has as much momentum as Alyssa Daniels. She remains undefeated in singles competition, only coming up just short during the War of the World Elimination Match, where she was betrayed by her Elysium boss, Kelly Godless. Tonight she takes on Anton Chase, and she came out swinging during her promotional video.

Sebastian Riggs - We saw a side of her this week that we hadn’t seen before. Sure, she’s as determined and competitive as they come, but something struck a nerve with Daniels this past week when it came to her opponent Anton Chase. His moniker as “The Wrestling God” and his two shots at the Trench War Championship definitely rubbed her the wrong way. I don’t think she’s going to be holding anything back tonight.

Dante Reed - And finally, our opening matchup pits two World Champions in different companies with Finn Whelan taking on Blake Archer.

Sebastian Riggs - Both of these competitors have a few similarities. Both have defended their World Championships in Union Battleground, and both have a very similar record. These opening bouts have become just as big, if not bigger, than the main events. I can’t wait to see these two collide!

Dante Reed - And with that, ladies and gentlemen, that’s our lineup for tonight. So without further ado, Mike Dempsey, take it away!

fool's gold

Voice - Thieving little witch…

[The scene fades in backstage. Muttering to herself, Alyssa Daniels walks up to her locker room door.]

Alyssa Daniels - Have to have the medallion in order to compete for the War Horse Championship… I guess anybody can just come down and steal one rather than compete for it… Such a bad precedent…

[She opens the door and steps in. Her muttering is interrupted by a note and what appears to be a gift wrapped and set on the bench. The placement is clearly meant to grab attention as soon as one enters the room. And it worked. Alyssa walks up to the wrapped item and takes the note first. She opens it and begins to read.]

“Dear Alyssa,

We wanted to congratulate you on your recent win. We weren’t sure what to get you to celebrate the occasion so we picked up something we thought you would like. We hope it is to your liking.

Legion”

[Scowling, Alyssa throws the note aside and rips open the gift to find…]

[The War Horse Medallion!]

[Her eyes widen. She lifts it and, upon doing so her upper lip peels back into a snarl. She uses a fingernail on the back to peel off the aluminum foil that masqueraded as the medallion. Inside appears to be a chocolate with another small note.]

“We didn’t want you to think it would be that easy. We hold the key and you’ll get nowhere without it, little girl.

P.S. We wouldn’t suggest eating the chocolate, unless you’re ready to give up, end it all. It’s poison.”

[Alyssa’s face contorts with rage as she throws the poisoned chocolate coin across the room, slamming it against a locker. She shrieks, releasing some of the anger as she sits down and runs her fingers through her hair. The scene fades on the frustrated expression from the Heart of Infinity.]

Mike Dempsey - The following contest is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, accompanied by Mary-Jane, standing 6’9” and weighing in at 295 pounds, from Canton, Ohio, he is the GWP World Heavyweight Champion, “The King of Canines” Blake Archer!

REACH OUT AND TOUCH FAITH!

YOUR OWN, PERSONAL JESUS

SOMEONE TO HEAR YOUR PRAYERS

SOMEONE WHO CARES

YOUR OWN PERSONAL JESUS

SOMEONE TO HEAR YOUR PRAYERS

SOMEONE WHO’S THERE

♫

[Archer steps out from behind the entrance his beautiful fashion obsessed wife stepping out next to him. He holds his fist up above his head and she wraps her arms around his giving a heel popping kiss. They then proceeds to make his way towards the ring. One hand holding hers and the other He reaches his hands out to his sides touching fingertips with those stretching out to touch him.]

♫

FEELINGS UNKNOWN AND YOU’RE ALL ALONE

FLESH AND BONE BY THE TELEPHONE

LIFT UP THE RECEIVER

I’LL MAKE YOU A BELIEVER

♫

[He stops and hits the steel rings steps with his fist than climbs them to the ring apron and stepping over the top rope into the ring after swiping his feet across the skirt of the ring. His charming smile is on his face while he poses for each side of the ring striking a reaction out of the fans.]

Dante Reed - Bas, Blake Archer has been on quite a good streak as of late, with his most recent victory coming at War of the Worlds when he successfully defended his GWP World Championship against Josie Pleasure.

Sebastian Riggs - That was a hard fought victory for the King of Canines, but tonight he’s facing some stiff competition with a fellow World Champion himself!

Mike Dempsey - And his opponent, standing 6’4” and weighing in at 202 pounds, from Seattle, Washington, he is the WWH World Heavyweight Champion, “The Seattle Saint” Finn Whelan!

[The lights dim in the arena and cast the arena in a red glow, and for a moment -- only a moment -- the crowd quiets down just a smidge. The guitar riff opening that carries throughout the rest of Asking Alexandria's "The Black" breaks out and brings the crowd to their feet -- both in a positive and negative reaction, completely mixed.]

♫

BURY ME, JUST LEAVE ME TO SLEEP IN THE DIRT

FINISH ME, I'M FLOATING AWAY

THERE'S A DEMON STARING STRAIGHT THROUGH YOUR EYES

AM I WASTING MY TIME?

THERE'S SOMETHING STIRRING INSIDE OF ME

♫

[Just before the first line of the song, Finn Whelan has appeared not from the curtain, but from one of the visitor's entrances. He stops at the top of the steps for a moment, a slight smirk on his face as he glances at the people around him. He begins stepping down the stairs at a brisk pace, high-fiving a couple fans as he makes his way down to the ring.]

Dante Reed - At War of the Worlds, Finn Whelan sent Johnny Vachon packing in their Title versus Career match, Bas. Then two weeks ago, got upended by Joe Stanton. You have to feel like tonight he’s looking to get back on track.

Sebastian Riggs - Finn has been a bit of an enigma in Union Battleground. We talk about his run in the Crown of the King Cobra Tournament, nearly winning it all, but his consistency since then has been stellar. You’re right though, he got caught two weeks ago by Stanton, but a victory over Blake Archer tonight, a person who holds World Championship gold, would put him right back on track.

[At the barrier, he slings himself over and slides immediately underneath the bottom rope and leaps to his feet in the center of the ring. He heads directly for the ropes in front of him, and hops up onto the bottom one, bouncing slightly as he looks back at the crowd, choosing a few choice words to share with them. He drops down from it, and pulls off his vest as he heads to the his place against the turnbuckle, leaning into it as his music fades out.]

Dante Reed - Alright folks, both fighters are now squared away in their corners. Two World Champions kicking off L!GHTS OUT #24. The referee checks off with each man one last time and calls for the bell. This match is underway!

[DING!]

[The bell toll only begins to wane as both Archer and Whelan bull rush each other and begin trading off heavy hooks and haymakers to the face! The crowd instantly roars as both men waste no time to kick this bout into overdrive. Back-and-forth each man connects, but obvious adrenaline is coursing through their veins as neither man is slowing down!]

Dante Reed - And here we go!

Sebastian Riggs - Looks like we got a “take no prisoners” kind of fight right now!

[Both men continue to assault each other, and the crowd only continues to rally behind them both. Archer now starts to edge Whelan, landing a couple consecutive strikes to Whelan’s single strikes. Archer now is gaining three-to-four strikes in a row and Whelan is showing signs of slowing down. Archer goes for three strikes in a row and tries a winding haymaker for a fourth, but Whelan catches it and sends the King of Canines down with a flying armbar!]

Dante Reed - Holy shit! Finn Whelan just caught Archer with a flying armbar!

Sebastian Riggs - I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a thing inside the squared circle! He’s got it locked in tight, this could be a quick one!

[Archer tries to fight off and escape the submission hold, but Whelan is too deep for Archer to make any separation. Archer decides if he doesn’t want to tap out, he needs to reach the ropes. He uses his massive size advantage to crawl his way over to the ropes while Finn hangs on. Archer finally makes it to the ropes, and Whelan immediately releases. Archer gets to his feet holding his elbow, and before Whelan can get to solid footing, Archer begins to drive heel kicks to the back of the head of Whelan!]

Dante Reed - Archer showing that sometimes, size DOES matter!

Sebastian Riggs - You’re not telling me anything I don’t already know, Dante! Archer has over ninety pounds on Finn Whelan. If Whelan wants to win this one, he’s going to have to use his speed because he can’t go toe-to-toe with Archer all night!

[Archer ceases his kicks to Whelan and pulls him up to his feet. He whips Whelan into the ropes, and on the return chops him down with a front drop kick to the knees. Archer now bounces off the ropes, and comes back with a massive leg drop, and hooks the leg for a cover.]

… One!

… Two!

… Kick out!

[Whelan somehow manages to press Archer’s giant frame off of him and rotates out and gets to his feet. Archer springs himself off the ropes and lunges in for a close line, but Whelan ducks and hooks Archer in a double underhook. Whelan keeps the hold momentarily, and then bridges back for a tiger suplex! Archer looks stunned but somehow manages to get back to his feet. In a jolt of adrenaline, Archer sprints at Whelan for a spear, but Finn counters it with a sharp flying knee smash that completely rocks Archer and stops him dead in his tracks!]

Dante Reed - It looked like Archer was trying to hit the Silver Shot, but Whelan sniffed it out and countered with that devastating knee strike!

Sebastian Riggs - Archer’s eyes are in the back of his head!

[With the crowd behind him now, Whelan stalks his opponent and just as Archer begins to wobble to his feet, The Seattle Saint hooks him in a pumphandle. The crowd begins to roar as Whelan plays to them, then slams him with the pumphandle flatliner!]

Sebastian Riggs - Revelation 6:4! Finn Whelan has just decimated Blake Archer!

Dante Reed - Finn now hooks the leg, this one’s over!

… One!

… Two!

… Three!

[DING DING DING!]

Mike Dempsey - Here is your winner, “The Seattle Saint” Finn Whelan!

[Whelan stands to an ovation from the crowd as the referee holds his hand up high in victory. Finn begins to play to the crowd while beating his chest with a closed fist.]

Dante Reed - There you have it folks, what an opener here. Finn Whelan is back in the win column, while Archer goes back to the drawing board.

Sebastian Riggs - No shame in losing to a guy like Finn Whelan, Dante. He’s as good as they come here in the Battleground.

Dante Reed - Folks, coming up next we have two daredevils set to take flight as Alyssa Daniels takes on Anton Chase!

diner talk

[Dick Devereaux sits calmly in a booth at an old, dingy dinner. The red, cracked leather on the seat makes him feel at home, giving off a calm demeanor. Across from him sits a blonde woman, her hair down just past her shoulders, her make up perfectly done and wearing a thin, blue and white patterned summer dress. Plates from the meal they just finished lie in front of them with their utensils spread out and their glasses empty with only cola stained ice remaining in them.]

[Noticeably, the viewer’s perspective seems to be from the first person point of view from someone sitting at the counter on a stool. Whoever it is, they are perfectly angled across from Dick Devereaux and the woman to get a perfect sight on them, while also being close enough to eavesdrop on the conversation.]

Dick Devereaux - It’s good to see you Amanda.

[Amanda? This mysterious, blonde woman who looks to be the polar opposite of Dick Devereaux has a name.]

Amanda - It’s refreshing to see you too, I know you’re a big shot pro wrestler but you have to make more time for your little sis.

[Dick Devereaux has a sister?!? Amanda smiles and reaches across clutching her brother’s clenched fist. Dick smiles, a rarity to see for even long time Union battleground viewers. ]

Dick Devereaux - You know I try and see you whenever I’m not on the road.

[Amanda nods with an appreciative smile.]

Amanda - I know. I also know how much you’ve helped me become who I am today by doing what you do to put me through college as well as helping me out whenever I needed it.

Dick Devereaux -: It’s no sweat Amanda, that’s what brothers are for.

[Again, Amanda’s eyes glisten with an adoring look towards her bigger brother.]

Amanda - Well…I need your help again.

[Dick cracks a half smile, as if he expected for her to ask a favor.]

Dick Devereaux - What is it?

Amanda - Well, Christopher has asked me to marry him and I want you to give me away on our wedding day!

[The excitement in Amanda’s voice settles Dick Devereaux down from becoming the over protective and over bearing big brother he’s always had to be since their parents were never around. Dick grits his teeth and smiles widely because he knows he has to, that’s what she needs right now.]

Dick Devereaux - Of course I will. I should probably have the “talk” with Chris first though.

[Amanda laughs Dick off as he had a hint of malice in his tone. The moment is then broken by Dick’s phone going off, he reaches into his pocket and answers it. After nodding and a quick response to the person on the other line, Dick hangs up. Devereaux now signals for the check, which the waitress quickly brings over.]

Amanda - Gotta fly?

[Dick looks down at the check, reaches into his jean pocket pulling out various denominations of cash and throws down enough to cover the bill, as well as a decent tip.]

Dick Devereaux - Yeah but I’ll come by tonight to continue this conversation, don’t worry, I’m happy for you Amanda.

[Amanda smiles and brushes her hair to the side.]

Amanda - I’ll be home all night just watching TV, Chris is on night shift rotations this week.

[Dick stands up, as does Amanda. The two continue the conversation as our point of view changes with whoever was watching them now turning towards the waitress behind the counter, waving them over. The man now speaks but still, though his voice sounds familiar, due to the first person point of view, his identity remains unknown.]

Familiar Voice - I’ll take my check now.

[The waitress turns around towards the register to cash the mysterious man out as his point of view, as well as the viewer’s turns back towards Dick Devereaux and Amanda as they exit the diner.]

attack of the Australian giant

[The scene fades backstage where we see Blake Archer stepping through the curtain. He's wincing a little and rolls his shoulders as the match with Finn Whelan took it out of him. Spotting Mary-Jane, he smiles and walks towards her as she holds her arms up for him to get a hug.]

Mary-Jane - You did great b--

[Blake never makes it into her arms though as he's suddenly jumped from behind by the massive Australian Giant, Levinator! Levinator slams a forearm into the back of Blake's head, following up with some stiff blows to his back before seizing Blake by his hair, and heaving him straight over and into a wall. Levinator goes to walk over towards him, only for Mary-Jane to get between them.]

Mary-Jane - No! Stop it! He just had a match. You shoul--

[Any further comments from Mary-Jane are cut off as Levinator pie-faces her and shoves her down to the floor. Archer sees it and charges roaring, throwing his own right hands at Levinator, and now the brawl is on as the two big men stumble away. Archer landing a few big shots, before Levinator is able to block a right hand and drills Blake right between the eyes with a nasty headbutt! Blake slumps down to one knee, and Levinator takes a step away and then boots Blake right between the eyes to send him tumbling back down. Levinator looks over to see Mary-Jane getting closer but points at her and shakes his head.]

Levinator - Stay out of it. I will knock you out.

[That's enough of a warning for Mary-Jae to turn and run, and Levinator looks down at Blake, before reaching down to pick him up by his hair. Levinator drags Blake along a few steps until Blake fires off a right hand into his ribs. Levinator stopping him his march to turn and slam another forearm into Blake's face, and then a second! Levinator turns and sees something, shoving Archer back into a wall, and stepping away, but only for a few moments before he comes charging back in, pushing a production crate and slamming it into Blake's ribs. Archer slumps over the crate and Levinator starts slamming some forearms down on his back with a growl.]

Levinator - You should have stayed out of my business! You useless motherfucker!

[Levinator hauls Blake off the production crate, heaving him up over his shoulder, and turning to carry Blake down the corridor some more. The Australian Sensation stopping when he sees security coming from both directions, with Mary-Jane leading them! Levinator looks left and right as security stares at him, and Levinator shrugs....and then charges forward and tosses Blake like a spear face-first through a window! Mary-Jane crying out in shock, and quickly swarming over to check on her husband, and the screams of anguish coming from Archer, as he rolls around on the floor holding onto his face which is covered in blood. Levinator just laughs and pats Mary-Jane on the back.]

Levinator - When he's done screaming....let him know I'm not finished yet.

[And with that Levinator goes to walk away. The seven foot giant stops in front of the security officers and just snarls.]

Levinator - Move.

[The guards look at each other and then do just that, and Levinator walks off as the show fades away on the sight of the bloodied Archer screaming in pain.]

Blake Archer - FUCK! MY EYE! FUUUCK!

Mike Dempsey - The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, standing 5’9” and weighing in at 209 pounds, from Los Angeles, California, he is “The Wrestling God” Anton Chase!

♫

NIGHTFALL AND THE DAY BEGINS,

I NEED THE BRIGHT CITY LIGHTS AS I START TO DESCEND

♫

[As "How We Roll" by Hollywood Undead blasts over the PA system, white smoke fills the entrance and two people are seen behind the white smoke. The first person steps forward in front of the white smoke revealing "The Wrestling God" Anton Chase as the second person emerges behind him, which is his manager Chris Wood. Anton Chase makes his way down the ramp, with a cocky smile on his face and his arms out at the side with Chris Wood following behind him. Chase climbs in the ring and then climbs the second ropes and puts one hand up in the air, and stares off as he awaits his opponent while Chris Wood takes his position outside the ring.]

Dante Reed - Anton Chase has been in quite a slump this season, Bas. In season two, he’s won only one match, which was a Trios bout when he teamed up with Alex Kincaid and Axton Pierce.

Sebastian Riggs - The veteran has definitely seen better days, Dante. Maybe tonight he turns it around? If he does, it would certainly be a monumental victory!

Mike Dempsey - And his opponent, standing 5’8” and weighing in at 135 pounds, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she is “The Heart of Infinity” Alyssa Daniels!

♫

AM I BRAVE ENOUGH? AM I STRONG ENOUGH?

TO FOLLOW THE DESIRE THAT BURNS FROM WITHIN

TO PUSH AWAY MY FEAR, TO STAND WHERE I'M AFRAID

I AM THROUGH WITH THIS, 'CAUSE I AM MORE THAN THIS

♫

[The lights dim as 'I Am The Fire' by Halestorm plays throughout the arena. Magenta spotlights spin through the crowd with the rhythm of the music. Alyssa Daniels steps out onto the ramp to roaring cheers from the crowd! She smiles and waves in appreciation of their adoration. Her eyes then lock on the ring as her demeanor changes from pleased and happy to intense and focused. She marches down the ramp and leaps up onto the apron then over the top rope displaying her quickness and agility. She then climbs the turnbuckle as the chorus hits, pumping her fist to the words.]

♫

I AM THE FIRE!

♫

[The crowd sings along with Alyssa to the rhythm of her pumping fist. She hops down from the turnbuckle and pulls the top rope to stretch in preparation for the coming match.]

Dante Reed - As we mentioned earlier in the night, no one has more momentum in their favor than Alyssa Daniels. Although she won a Four Horsemen Medallion, her rival Legion ambushed her after their match and stole it!

Sebastian Riggs - And from my understanding, whoever walks in to that War Horse Championship Match with the Medallion, will enter the match. So Daniels better be on the look out for Legion!

Dante Reed - Alright folks, our fighters are squared away in their corners and the ref is calling for the bell. This match is underway!

[DING!]

[The bell tolls and both competitors close the distance. Chase and Daniels lock up with a collar and elbow tie, and immediately Anton wraps around and locks Alyssa in an arm wrench. Chase begins dropping elbows onto Daniels shoulder, but Daniels reacts quickly with a cartwheel and then wraps Chase in an arm wrench. She too begins dropping elbows, but Chase tries to fight it off with back elbow shots of his own. Daniels tries to dodge them but catches several in a row before finally jumping on his back and locks in a sleeperhold. Chase works to fight off the submission, ever so slowly breaking her grip. Before he can break free, Daniels drops back and pierces Chase with a backstabber! Daniels quickly hooks the leg for a cover!]

... One!

... Tw—Kick out!

Dante Reed - Anton Chase tries to make the escape but Daniels stays one step ahead!

Sebastian Riggs - Her in-ring awareness is second to none, Dante.

[Daniels gets a top mount onto Chase and begins dropping bombs. Chase tries to defend himself but he eats several clean shots to the head. Finally he bridges out and tosses Daniels off of him and both get back to their feet. Chase and Daniels begin trading off punches back and forth, but Chase takes the offensive and launches a devastating pele kick, dazing Daniels and rocking her back on her heels. Before Anton can capitalize on it, Daniels comes firing back with a monster Superman punch! Chase drops to the canvas and Daniels begins running the ropes. Alyssa springboards off the middle rope into a moonsault, but Chase pulls his knees up just in time and Daniels comes crashing down hard. Alyssa now rolling around in pain, clutching her ribs while Anton gets back to his feet. Chase drops a few stomps onto Daniels’ midsection before stepping on her hair and pulling her up by her arms. The crowd rain down boos and the referee orders him to stop, which he eventually does but not after milking it to the fullest. Chase then drags Daniels up to her feet, hooks her arms, lifts her up and drops her with a vertebreaker! Anton hooks the leg for a cover.]

... One!

... Two!

... Kick out!

Dante Reed - A devastating Starmaker nearly ended it all for Alyssa Daniels here.

Sebastian Riggs - This has ended some people’s careers, but Alyssa has the resiliency that keeps her in the fight in even the most overmatched situations.

[Chase looks furious about the kick out and let’s the ref hear it, arguing about hisncount tempo. To no avail, Chase finally lets it go and goes back to Daniels, who is struggling to get tonher feet. Chase picks her the rest of the way and begins throwing massive knife edge chops and backs her up into a corner. From there, Chase begins ramming his shoulder into Daniels’ midsection in a furious succession. Chase then Irish whips Daniels across the ring and she crashes hard into the opposite turnbuckle. Anton now rushes and launches himself for a big body splash, but Daniels counters it with a jumping knee smash! Chase gets rocked and stumbles back on his heels while Daniels keeps the pressure on him and locks up with another collar and elbow tie. Daniels now goes to Irish whip Anton, but he reversed it and sends her across the ring. Alyssa reacts swiftly and springboards off the middle rope and flattens Anton with a massive superkick! The crowd explodes into cheers as Daniels now heads over to the nearest turnbuckle.]

Dante Reed - Holy shit! Just like that, Alyssa Daniels has Anton Chase right where she wants him!

Sebastian Riggs - She’s making that ascension to the top rope, she’s looking for the “Shot to the Heart” and end this one!

[Alyssa makes it to the top and dials it in on Anton. Just as she’s about to hit her 450 elbow drop, she notices from the main stage Legion is standing alone holding up that Four Horsemen Medallion she stole from Daniels two weeks ago! Daniels hops down from the top rope and begins jawing out at Legion. The Queenslayer continues to taunt Daniels from a distance, and it’s just long enough to distract Daniels and allow Anton to spring up and put Alyssa down with a rollup! The referee drops down and makes the count!]

... One!

... Two!

... Thre—No! Kick out!

[Alyssa Daniels looks furious as both competitors get to their feet. Alyssa launches herself at Anton and drops him with a codebreaker!]

Dante Reed - Alyssa Daniels just knocked Anton Chase out cold with the Amnesia! This one’s over!

... One!

... Two!

... Three!

[DING DING DING!]

Mike Dempsey - Here is your winner, “The Heart of Infinity” Alyssa Daniels!

[Daniels doesn’t wait around for the referee to raise her hand in victory, instead she slides out of the ring and races up the ramp towards Legion! The Queenslayer darts back through the curtain as Daniels continues chasing her.]

Dante Reed - Come hell or high water, Daniels has her sights set on reclaiming that medallion!

Sebastian Riggs - It’s her first shot at Championship gold, she’ll stop at nothing to get it back!

Dante Reed - Folks we gotta take a short commercial break. When we return, we will finally see the debut of Elena DeDraca as she takes on Josie Pleasure! Stick around!

surviving disaster

[Blake staggers around in the backstage area coughing and gasping for air. His wife and EMTs surround him trying to get him to calm down. Instead he swings for them before falling to his knees holding his right hand over the same side of his face and yelling at the top of his lungs.]

Blake Archer - No. I won’t!

[He punches boxes as he passes them continuing to look like a wounded animal.]

Medic - We need to get you to a hospital.

Mary-Jane - Sweetie you are cut pretty bad.

[He ignores them still wobbling his way around backstage.]

Blake Archer - No I want that son of a bitch. I want him!

[Mary-Jane puts her arms around her husband, but as she is able to get him to sit down the medical staff enrages him by trying to tend to him. He shoves the three of them away as they fall over themselves. His wife gets angry and shouts.]

Mary-Jane - Blake, SIT BOY!

[He lets out a loud gruff and thumps himself back down on the utility box he’d just been using. His wife puts a hand on each side of him while his long black hair starts to coagulate together from the saturation of blood.]

Blake Archer - I hate when you do that.

Mary-Jane - I hate watching you push yourself so hard only to get kicked back down. This is the second time Levinator has busted you open. I don’t give a damn what you think you need to prove to people. Maybe you need to listen to what Josie told you instead of all these other assholes talking shit? I am just sick of watching you bleed and it is all over nothing.

[He looks up seeing her very frustrated for the first time in awhile.]

Blake Archer - Fine you can drive me to the hospital, but I am walking in myself.

[She nods in agreement and turns to the EMT gentlemen.]

Mary-Jane - I got this handled from here.

stalking the prey

[Opening outside of a two story, light bricked house just before dusk, the perspective once again returns to that of the mysterious man from the diner earlier who remains unidentified due to the point of view staying in first person. Leering into a window, the woman from earlier, Amanda Devereaux, Dick’s sister, sits on her couch comfortably as the changing scenes from the television show she’s watching causes different shades of color to reflect off of her face and body.]

[After a few moments, Amanda looks over her shoulder towards the kitchen. She gets up and heads over to the island in her kitchen as the man whose watching her backs away from the window and heads further around the backyard, passing by patio furniture and such before settling near a window in the back giving a view of inside the house looking at Amanda from the rear. She seems to be checking her iPhone with her head down and lit up by its screen. Amanda now puts her phone back down onto her kitchen island and heads for the fridge. She opens it, grabs a soda and heads back for the family room to retake her position on her big, comfy couch.]

[Like before, the man backs away from the window, though this time, before leaving, he glances back towards the front door through the window revealing to the viewer the worse case scenario; the front door is unlocked. Quickening his pace, he makes his way back around to the front as the sun as officially set now, leaving it dark outside.]

[Without hesitation, we see him reach for the doorknob and swing the door open. Amanda looks back frantically from the couch with a terrified look on her face.]

Amanda - Who…who are you? What are you doing in my house?!?!

[Silence is the mysterious man’s response as he takes a few steps forward and looks to his right. Staring right back at him is his own identity as he’s looking into a mirror. Godless grins evilly as the blackness under his eyes seems to deepen. He looks back to his left towards Amanda whose now standing up.]

[Godless moves in for Amanda as she screams in a panic. Fade to a commercial.]

Mike Dempsey - The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, standing 5’9” and weighing in at 120 pounds, from Detroit, Michigan, she is “The Psycho Bitch” Josie Pleasure!

♫

"PET" BY A PERFECT CIRCLE BEGINS TO PLAY

♫

[Josie steps onto the stage as she grinds her hips from side to side, slowly working her hands up the sides of her body then throws them up into the air displaying metal signs. She flashes a twisted smile as she strolls down the ramp never taking her eyes off the ring that lies before her. Once there, she rolls inside pulling herself to the center and arching her back in what is known in yoga as an upward facing dog. Pushing her ample breasts outward and throwing her head back in what can only described as orgasmic fashion. Making the men in the audience shout with cat calls and whistles.]

Dante Reed - If there’s one thing that’s undeniable about Josie Pleasure, it’s that she’s a resilient competitor. She’s gone to war in each and every match she’s had in Union Battleground, and she keeps coming back for more.

Sebastian Riggs - She must suffer from short term memory loss because she’s been beaten down several times, but she gets back up and comes firing back. Now that she’s gained some momentum by winning one of the Four Horsemen Medallions and earning her shot at the War Horse Championship, she may see things in a different perspective. But tonight she’s facing arguably her toughest opposition yet.

Mike Dempsey - And her opponent, standing 5’8” and weighing in at 130 pounds, from London, England, she is “The Fist of Hydra” Elena DeDraca!

♫

THE GLORY OF A NATION DIES

THE SYMBOL OF THIS WAR IS COMING

A WARNING MEANT TO SAVE OUR LIVES FROM

F.E.A.R.'S RELIGION

♫

[There are some cheers when the curtain is flung back and a dour, yet supremely confident Elena DeDraca makes her way onto the stage.]

[As the fog begins to clear and the lights pulsate in tune to the music, Elena looks to her left, and then to her right as she absorbs the general atmosphere she is receiving. The pale queen nods, and she appears to smile while she makes her way down the ramp.]

[Several hands reach out for Elena's acknowledgement as she heads toward the ring, however she coldly ignores each and every one of them. Once at ringside, she leaps up onto the apron and there are some boo’s as she throws up a hand and points at the crowd, before she elegantly steps between the top and middle rope. She simply throws back her head and laughs at the referee's suggestion of a weapon check. As her theme music slowly fades out, Lady DeDraca throws up her taunt once more and then she confidently stares daggers down the entranceway, awaiting for the match to begin.]

Dante Reed - And here she comes, Bas! “The Fist of Hydra” Elena DeDraca is just moments away from making her Union Battleground debut!

Sebastian Riggs - This has been all the buzz these last few weeks. She’s currently the WWH Women’s Champion and also joins her brother, Finn Whelan, in another promotion! I’m ecstatic to see her here tonight, can’t wait to see this one unfold!

Dante Reed - Alright folks, our fighters are squared away in their corners and the ref calls for the bell. This match is underway!

[DING!]

[Before the echo of the bell ringing can subside, Josie Pleasure bull rushes from across the ring. Elena looks prepared and catches Pleasure with a drop toe hold, slamming Josie’s face into the middle turnbuckle. Elena takes a few steps back and times a perfect running knee smash into Josie’s temple. The Fist of Hydra picks her opponent up and throws her back into the corner and begins throwing several knife edge chops. DeDraca turns and takes a few steps back and comes rushing in and catapults Josie out of the corner with a monkey flip. Josie however lands on her feet and catches DeDraca off guard with a textbook spine buster.]

Dante Reed - Elena used Josie’s own momentum against her, but now Josie looks to regain control.

Sebastian Riggs - I think Josie is one of those types of people that gets off on pain. What do they call it? A masochist?!

Dante Reed - Stop it.

[Josie takes a top mount and takes Elena by the hair and starts ramming her head repeatedly on the mat. Josie doesn’t let off there, as she then drops several hammerfists and trying to gouge at her eyes. Elena thinks quick and slips Josie into a triangle choke! Josie tries to break free from it, but Elena has it locked in tight. With nothing much else to do, Josie stands to her feet and picks Elena up along and looks to go for a powerbomb, but Elena counters quickly with a crisp hurricanrana! Both women are back on their feet, and Josie charges at Elena, but again Elena uses Josie’s momentum and drops her with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex! DeDraca keeps the pressure and hooks the leg for a cover!]

... One!

... Two!

... Kick out!

Dante Reed - And again Elena DeDraca uses Josie’s own force against her.

Sebastian Riggs - Elena is well known to be very methodical. She’s willing to pick her spots and capitalize on it to inflict the most damage to her opponents.

[Josie explodes out of the pinfall attempt and both women get to their feet. Josie looks furious and instantly both fighters begin trading off blows back and forth. Josie eats every shot without so much as a flinch while Elena opts to parry and counter. Even though DeDraca is overwhelming Josie with clean jabs, The Psycho Bitch backs Elena up into the ropes. With all her might, Pleasure stops DeDraca dead in her tracks with a vicious European uppercut! Josie adds on with a flurry of combo strikes to head and midsection, and finishes it off with a brutal head butt! Elena is now completely dazed as Josie lifts and sets her in the top rope. Pleasure makes the climb herself and gets Elena in a double underhook, and in one fluid motion, spins Elena off the top into a spinning pedigree! Josie quickly pounces on top and makes a cover!]

... One!

... Two!

... Thr—Kick out!

Dante Reed - Are you kidding me?! How did Elena kick out of that?!

Sebastian Riggs - I thought that Psycho Drop was the end for The Fist of Hydra, Dante. But DeDraca is a warrior!

[Josie looks stunned at the kick out and immediately argues with the ref. To no avail, Josie finally gives up her plea and goes back to Elena. Josie pulls her up by the hair and tries scalping a chunk in the process. This locks Elena into overdrive as she fights Josie off with stiff knees to the rib cage. Elena finally breaks free from Josie’s grasp with her signature jawbreaker, aptly names Lights Out. Josie back pedals on her heels and Elena runs the ropes. On the return, DeDraco looks to go for a tilt-a-whirl headscissors but Josie slips out of it, only for DeDraca to continue her momentum and wrap Josie into her Octopus hold!]

Dante Reed - Elena DeDraca has got Josie Pleasure in The Fist of Hydra!

Sebastian Riggs - Right in the middle of the Ring, Dante! There’s nowhere to go for Josie!

[Elena wrenches back with all her might as Josie screams out in pain. Finally, after a long struggle, Josie admits defeat tonthe ref and he calls for the bell!]

[DING DING DING!]

Mike Dempsey - Here is your winner, “The Fist of Hydra” Elena DeDraca!

[DeDraca finally lets off of the submission and Josie drops to the mat. Elena springs back to her feet as the referee raises her hand up high in victory.]

Dante Reed - What an impressive debut for Elena DeDraca!

Sebastian Riggs - She came in here tonight and was able to knock off a dangerous opponent who happens to hold a medallion for the War Horse Championship Match! Very impressive indeed, man!

Dante Reed - People in the back better keep their eyes peeled for DeDraca, she absolutely displayed that sheer warrior mentality that she’s known for! Folks, coming up next we have a match to determine the third Four Horsemen Medallion as Joe Stanton is set to take on the debuting Magdalena!1

addiction or passion

[Joe Stanton is sitting backstage on a steel chair, he's mostly geared up for his match later save for the NGIW t-shirt he's wearing. A ponderous look on his face, Stanton runs his index finger over his lips in a gesture of thought. He holds the finger on them for a moment, tapping them with it.]

Joe Stanton - You know, you're the second person to say that about me in Union Battleground, Sarin.

[Wagging his finger in front of him, Joe smiles when he references how a certain champion said something similar to him before.]

Joe Stanton - An addict, just some adrenaline junkie looking for his next fix.

[The Scarlet Speedster continues to smile when paraphrasing them, lowering his head and letting out a soft, amused scoff.]

Joe Stanton - I'm sure a lot of the roster wouldn't know this about me because they wouldn't bother to do this kind of digging, but I've been an addict before. I've had my issues with substances in the past, been several years now though that I've been clean. Not every day is an easy day to stay that way, I admit there have been days where I sure as hell have straddled that line and almost fell back over it head first into my addiction again. I don't crow about being clean because I'm not the type to do that, nor do I cry about my past to try to garner sympathy for any one person. I made my choices, and I dealt with the consequences of them. Simple as that.

[His eyes stay cast down away from the camera when he recounts his past. His right hand aimlessly running up and down his left arm, rubbing it a little when he talks about his sobriety. There's a half-hearted shrug when he talks about why it's not a common subject matter for him.]

Joe Stanton - But the reason I bring it up is to illustrate a point to anyone that looks at me and all they think there is to me is an adrenaline junkie looking for his next fix. I know that sensation, looking to scratch that itch. I know addiction. If I had an addiction to wrestling, to fighting, I'd be swinging at any Tom, Dick and John that I come across on the street that looks halfway tough.

[He jabs at his own chest with his index finger and leans in to the camera when he states he knows addiction, his tone and the look in his eyes filled with certainty.]

Joe Stanton - No, what drives me in this sport are two things. The first is knowing that I give folks their money's worth every single time I step out from behind the curtain. The second is the challenge. The challenge that any given wrestler can present to you on any given night, the understanding of a person you only get when you're swinging at each other, the attempt to survive and the puzzle that is trying to overcome someone that you know in that moment in the ring is maybe better than you. Transcending what you were to become something more. The passion you feel from not just yourself but the other person in the ring regardless of what snake oil they'll try to sell you about themselves prior or after the match.

[Holding up two fingers, Stanton explains what those two things are and his smile becomes more of a sneer when describing being in combat. A gleam in his eye sparkles and burns.]

Joe Stanton - That's why I didn't bring up the medallion, because it's a nice prize but it isn't why I'm doing this. As nice as a shot at the championship is it isn't why I'm doing this. Right here, right now, I'm doing this because I want to know what sort of challenge your follower produces. Your Magdalena has my undivided attention. If I win, then I'll concern myself with championships.

[Pondering the idea of a championship opportunity, Joe's rather nonchalant about it and shakes his head when he states repeatedly it isn't why he's doing this right now. He points to the floor below him when he talks of the here and now to stress it, smiling brightly when he explains why he's doing this right now.]

Joe Stanton - - ... Amen, I guess?

[The Scarlet Speedster closes the piece with a confused religious closure to it with an equally confused face and hand gesture as if telling Miss Sarin to take it. Clearly religion isn't really his thing.]

Mike Dempsey - The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is for one of the Four Horsemen Medallions! Introducing first, accompanied by Miss Sarin, standing 5’2” and weighing in at 118 pounds, from Vatican City, Italy, she is “The Pious One” Magdalena!

THIS IS WHAT I BROUGHT YOU, THIS YOU CAN KEEP

THIS IS WHAT I BROUGHT, YOU MAY FORGET ME

I PROMISE TO DEPART, JUST PROMISE ONE THING

KISS MY EYES AND LAY ME TO SLEEP

♫

[The lights dim to a soft purple as Miss Sarin walks out first, reading from her own bible before stopping at the entrance ramp. She smiles maliciously, turning and beckoning to the back as Magdalena begins to walk out. She is also reading from her bible, seemingly enraptured by the scripture as she continues to walk, slowly and methodically forward. She reaches the ring, handing her bible to Miss Sarin reverently before slowly shrugging off her robe. She slides into the ring, drawing up to her feet, her eyes shining with a malicious light.]

Dante Reed - The latest member of Miss Sarin’s group, Magdalena, is a complete unknown. But from what we’ve heard, she’s even more dangerous than her cohort Caden Walker.

Sebastian Riggs - From what I know, Magdalena is a loose cannon once inside the ring. She has no real rhyme or reason to her strategy, so she will look to keep her opponent here tonight guessing.

Mike Dempsey - And her opponent, standing 6’1” and weighing in at 235 pounds, from Chicago, Illinois, he is the IJPW Death Crown Champion, “The Scarlet Speedster” Joe Stanton!

[The thumping of the song and the darkening of the house lights cue the fans to put their hands together, clapping along with the tune as a blinding stage light creates a massive glare that blinds those in attendance and at home watching. When the stage light dims and some spotlights cast on the stage, Joe Stanton is there standing with his signature pair of sunglasses on. He looks out at the fans and he pumps his fist a few times in rhythm with the song before he heads for the ring and enters it quickly. Throwing his jacket to the side, Joe circles the ring pointing to the fans in attendance before he shadow boxes in his corner, waiting for the tune to end.]

Dante Reed - One thing you can say about Joe Stanton, this guy has been on an impressive win streak as of late.

Sebastian Riggs - Since his narrow defeat from Kimitsu Zombie during their War Horse Championship Match, Stanton has gone 3-0, taking out the like of Caden Walker, Mark Storm, and Finn Whelan. And now, he’ll try to continue this streak and earn a Four Horsemen Medallion!

Dante Reed - Alright folks, our fighters are squared away in their corners and the ref calls for the bell. This match is underway!

[DING!]

[Joe quickly gets his hands up and blocks Magdelena’s explosive start on offense throwing rights and lefts. He kicks her in the right shin causing her to drop guard for a second, Joe swings that right hand he’s made famous, but Miss Sarin shouts in letting Magelena know to duck.]

Dante Reed - What an opening from Magdelena she wants to get Joe on the defensive right out of the gate. Appears to me Miss Sarin has well versed Magelena on that famous right hand of Joe Stanton’s we will have to see how that plays out. What do you think Bas?

Sebastian Riggs - I’ll reiterate from earlier. Magdalena is unpredictable and chaotic, so I’m not surprised to see her firing out hard early in this match.

[Magdelena ducks the right hand and sweeps Joe’s feet out from under him. He rolls away from her right as he hits the mat and is back up to his feet. Magdelena is there to meet him though with a running headbutt! There is a pause of concern in the air as Joe takes the hit square on the jaw and falls back into the corner. Magdelena rushes in for a running knee smash, but Joe rolls to evade the move swiftly making it to his feet. He turns and flips the scarlet speedster landing a pale kick on his opponent sending her down to the mat. Stanton follows up fast with a standing shooting star press, he goes to hook her leg.]

... One!

... Kickout!

Dante Reed - A quick pin attempt and a quick kick out. It never stops amazing my how agile and quick on his feet Stanton can be in that ring.

Sebastian Riggs - Especially given his size, he moves around like a cruiserweight!

[Magdelena kicks out right before the two as Joe hooked her leg, Joe almost hits her with a knee strike, but she catches him rolling through into a single leg crab. Magdelena doesn’t keep a hold of the move for more than a few seconds before getting up to stomp on the back of Joe’s head. He turns to his back to keep himself better protected getting his arms up just in time to block another stomp this time directed for his face. She pushes him over grabbing him from behind around the waist, she first tries to deadlift him nearly getting him up. Joe looks around as he finds his footing Magdelena still wrapped tightly around his waist. He grabs onto the ropes before she is able to snap him backwards.]

Dante Reed - Joe is hanging on by the ropes smartly right now, also entrapping his feet in Magdelena’s legs.

Sebastian Riggs - I’m more amazed at the fact Magdalena, who’s outweighed by a hundred pounds, could deadlift Stanton up like that!

[She lets go just to jab him hard right above the kidney. Joe cringes out loud from the shot letting go of the ropes giving Magdelena the moment to execute her German suplex she was looking for. Joe’s head bounces off the mat on impact. Magdelena turns hitting him hard with some elbows and closed fist while Joe is out of it. The referee warns her and then begins a five count, Magdelena doesn’t let up though forcing him to get between her and Joe.]

Dante Reed - Magdalena isn’t letting up, Bas!

Sebastian Riggs - The ref had to step in! I know this is the Battleground, but there are some rules you still need to abide by.

[Joe sits up shaking off the cobwebs a bit before standing up with Magdelena catching him with a kick to the gut as he does so. She grabs him by the wrist attempting to flip him, but Joe uses his other hand to flip himself over instead of hitting the mat. Before both of his feet touch Joe pulls her into an arm drag of his own. Magdelena lands on her lower back, but is right back up to her feet as Joe hits her with a dropkick! Joe rushes at her jumping onto her with a senton splash. He leans backwards hooking her inside leg.]

... One!

... Two!

... Kickout!

Dante Reed - Joe trying to use his speed once more to put Magdelena away in this one, but The Pious One wants to keep fighting.

Sebastian Riggs - He’s gonna have to dig deep to overcome this force.

[Joe ducks under her hand as Magdelena swings for him, he rushes past her into the ropes and back at her spinning in the air cracking his foot off her forehead with the momentum. Magdelena falls down from the corkscrew roundhouse kick rolling herself out of the ring to regroup with Miss Sarin. The fans boo the break from the fast paced action that was hooking them in. Joe looks around shaking his head summoning her back into the ring.]

Dante Reed - Joe Stanton is rallying now, but Magdalena plays it smart and slips outside to regroup herself.

Sebastian Riggs - The fans aren’t happy, but it’s a smart move by The Pious One.

[She slides back into the ring meeting Joe as the two of the begin hitting each other, Joe gets behind her executing a german suplex on her. Magdelena seems slower getting up this time so Joe helps her up attempting an Irish whip only for Magdelena to reverse it into a shoulder block. She backs up and runs towards him hitting a running headbutt their skulls colliding off one another. Magdelena is a little dazed herself, but can hear Miss Sarin giving direction from ringside. She picks up Joe giving him a belly to belly suplex and going for a pinfall of her own.]

... One!

... Two!

... Kickout!

Dante Reed - Magdalena is showing almost supernatural strength here, hitting another suplex on Stanton!

Sebastian Riggs - Chaotic. Dante. She’s simply chaotic.

[Joe Stanton only angers Magdelena with his kickout, she grits her teeth together clubbing him in the head causing Joe to stumble forward. He turns and is able to block a kick from her and counters with the Flash kick! Before Magdelena has a chance to know what is going on or hear Miss Sarin’s warning Joe connects with the Shoryuken! Joe wraps up both of her legs tightly.]

... One!

... Two!

... Three!

[DING DING DING!]

Mike Dempsey - Here is your winner for one of the Four Horsemen Medallions, “The Scarlet Speedster” Joe Stanton!

[Stanton stands to an ovation as he receives his medallion and has his arm raised high in victory. Joe climbs up the nearest turnbuckle to celebrate, showing off his golden ticket to the War Horse Championship Match.]

Dante Reed - What a finish, Bas! Out of nowhere, Stanton lands that infamous one punch and will be making his way into the War Horse Championship Bout!

Sebastian Riggs - Incredible tenacity from Joe Stanton. He took everything that Magdalena threw at him and kept coming back for more! He’s now taken out both Caden Walker and Magdalena, I wouldn’t be too surprised if this doesn’t sit well for Miss Sarin.

Dante Reed - No doubt, Joe better keep his head on a swivel! Folks, we have to take a short commercial break. But when we come back, it’s our main event! Emery Layton versus Alex Kincaid! Stay tuned!

a change in the great war

[The night sky calm, perfect, a thin mist floating through the air, falling to the ground blanketing the grass with a thin layer of frost. A shadow figure stand caught in the light of full moon in the sky. In front of him is a old two story shack, the paint on the outside walls giving into the environment around them. The wind whipping through the forest, funneling it directly into the side of the home.]

[He sighs making his way up the worn wooden steps, each one creaking more and more before reaching the porch. He stops in front of the metal screen door and looks back. Aiden Deimos can be seen plain as day, his shaved sides and black hair. But unlike his normal trench coat, today he wore a short sleeved t-shirt, tight blue jeans, and the Union Battleground Battalions Championship over his shoulder.]

[He reaches out and swings the door open, a sharp scraping sound echoes through the trees around him. Inside the home was dark, green, peeling paint on the walls. Below the paint it almost seemed like the walls were crying, trying to tell some sort of story. He walks into what seems to be a dining room, the fireplace in the corner, cold, ashes scattered across the floor beneath the wooden planks.]

[Aiden places the championship belt onto the hardwood dinner table. It was more of a throw than a placement, the metal of the belt clatters and echoes from wall to wall. He takes a deep breath in, the scent of nature filling his lungs.]

[The silence around him is broken by the sound of upcoming footsteps behind him, Aiden turns around to see his tag team partner making his way into the threshold. Viduus Morta only slightly taller than his partner, enters the room alone. For the first time in a while, without Speaker. Only these two men stand in the darkness.]

Viduus Morta - What are you doing here?

Aiden Deimos - I had to see this for myself.

[Viduus give him a questioning look.]

Viduus Morta - It was decided that once he has joined our ranks, this building would be left to rot.

Aiden Deimos - He doesn’t belong with us, he should be lying alongside every other person who has stood up against us. His body should be lying cold next to Tommy’s. He should have been executed.

Viduus Morta - this discussion is futile. The decision on the fate of Godless was made and agreed upon by all. He has already proved his worth alongside the elite of Salvation.

Aiden Deimos - Then maybe you three should conquer Union Battleground. It seems that I am no longer needed here.

[Aiden had been feeling this way since the rest of Salvation decided to allow Godless join their ranks. He knew in his heart of hearts that adding a man like this to their ranks wasn’t a good idea. It was nothing more than a ploy to get underneath Finale’s and Axel’s skin. He felt as though the group is no longer moving vertically, but horizontally.]

Viduus Morta - Each member of Salvation has a purpose. Even you.

Aiden Deimos - To sit back and watch as I am continuously being replaced. First by Crimson, then Godless. Im finished Viduus, I don’t need Salvation...and Salvation doesn’t need me.

[Aiden walks past Viduus and begins to make his way out of the home.]

Viduus Morta - If you walk out that door right now, you know what it means. We will find you Aiden and you'll become just another casualty of the Great War.

[Aiden doesn’t respond as he walks out the door. The camera pans across the image, Viduus Morta alone in the room, and Aiden Deimos’s Battalions championship left behind.]

JULY 1, 2018

LIVE AT THE RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATER

DENVER, COLORADO

ONLY ON THE BATTLEGROUND NETWORK

Mike Dempsey - Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the main event of the evening! The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, standing 6’2” and weighing in at 236 pounds, from Platinum Coast, he is accompanied by Alyssa Kincaid, “The Bullet King” Alex Kincaid!

[The grinding opening notes to Leaf XCEEDs “Storm Eagle" bring the audience up to their feet, turning towards the entrance for the now familiar music of The Bullet King. From the back, Alex Kincaid strides out staring up into the back of the arena. Alex bounces up and down in the aisle-way, hyping himself up. He strides to one side to stare out into the audience and then jogs back to the other as Alyssa Kincaid steps out from the back to accompany her husband.]

♫

STORM EAGLE CONTINUES TO PLAY

♫

[He makes a full lap of the ring, slapping hands with a few audience members that reach out to him. He pauses at the corner of the crowd barricade to stand on the timekeepers chair, planting one foot on the top of the barricade and staring up into the back of the building. Then, he suddenly pops backward and slides under the ropes to his feet. Alyssa takes her place on the floor near his corner as he walks across the ring and climbs to the top rope, pointing one finger into the air and staring out over the audience. He nods, seemingly satisfied with the support of his people, before he hops down to the floor and begins to warm up in his corner to await the start of the match.]

Dante Reed - Folks, Alex Kincaid has been on an absolute tear in his last couple matches. From his Falls Count Anywhere Match at War of the Worlds, to his technical masterpiece with Owen Gonsalves, he’s really been making a name for himself.

Sebastian Riggs - And tonight is no different. He’s going up against one of the most recognizable faces in the industry, and someone who’s been a part of Union Battleground since day one. I’m talking about our current King Cobra Champion, Emery Layton. Kincaid has a Hill to climb tonight, but he’s shown he’s not afraid of heights!

Mike Dempsey - And his opponent, standing 5’6” and weighing in at 135 pounds, from Anywhere and Everywhere, she is the Union Battleground King Cobra Champion, "The Worst of the Pavees" Emery Layton!

♫

IT DOESN'T HURT ME - YOU WANNA FEEL HOW IT FEELS?

YOU WANNA KNOW? KNOW THAT IT DOESN'T HURT ME?

YOU WANNA HEAR ABOUT THE DEAL I'M MAKING?

♫

[As "Running Up That Hill" by The Feud hits the PA system and light explodes to life, the excitement hits the air. The Worst of the Pavees herself- wearing her leather jacket and beanie over her gear and her King Cobra Championship around her waist- emerges from behind the curtain, clearly impressed with the amount of people who have turned out. She's nodding her head, holding her arms out as she struts down the ramp and swaying her head to the beat of her entrance theme, her eyes closed. She's lost in the moment, there's nowhere else she'd rather be right now.]

Dante Reed - And there she is, the King Cobra Champion herself, Emery Layton! Bas, Emery has been on a slump that we haven’t ever seen from her in the Battleground.

Sebastian Riggs - She’s lost her last two bouts, one from Rogan MacLean that ended her Trench War Championship reign at an astounding 404 days, then she lost the triple threat match against Kimitsu Zombie and MacLean at War of the Worlds. This is her first bout since then, so I’m certain she’s looking to get back on the right track.

[Once she reaches the bottom of the ramp, she unclips her title from around her waist- holding it one hand as she pulls her beanie off and thrusts it into her pocket with the other, skating up the steel steps and climbing the turnbuckle. As the fans cheer, Em lifts the King Cobra Championship into the air for all to see. Ooh, she's chuffed to even hold it in her hands. Once the eccentric Irish traveller has spent enough time up there, Emery leaps down from the top rope and into the ring, transitioning from that into probably the most graceful, crisp forward-roll you've ever seen. Once she's in there, she runs to the rope right behind her bouncing off it as she drops to her knees and skids forwards, as all the lights drop except a single spotlight on her and the lights from cell phone cameras as her upperbody falls backwards and she holds the King Cobra Championship up in the air with both arms right up. After a few moments of just simply listening to the cheers, she flips onto her front and crawls into her corner, removing her jacket and dumping the battered old thing to the outside as she sits down, legs flat out with the title now draped over her knees, waiting for the match to begin.]

Dante Reed - Emery has shed her moniker of the “Trench War Traveler” and now that she’s the King Cobra Champion, she’s dubbed herself as “The Landmine”.

Sebastian Riggs - She holds the King Cobra title that gives her the right for a shot at the Union Battleground Championship anytime, anywhere. I’m sure Nemesis has been keeping a close eye of his surroundings, knowing Layton could pop up at any moment!

Dante Reed - Alright folks, both Kincaid and Layton are now squared away inside the ring. Our referee for this main event bout is none other than Senior Official Bruce O’Neal. He checks off with each competitor one last time and calls for the bell! This match is underway!

[DING!]

[With the start of the bell Alex hits a sharp forearm to Emery’s face, quickly he grabs her wrist as she is disoriented Irish whipping her into the ropes. Emery turns her back as she hits into the ropes only to rebound back into a shoulder block by Alex. He turns and rushes off the ropes himself into an elbow drop. Emery rolls out of the way pushing herself back up to her feet before he does. She grapples her arms around his neck having the leverage on him while he is still on his knees. Alex pushes his fingers between his neck and her arms getting some room to breath. Emery wiggles her body around trying to regain the tight grip. Alex shoves himself up vertically on his feet, Emery jumps up adding a body scissors now with her sleeper.]

Dante Reed - And like a Cobra, Emery is trying to squeeze the life out of her prey.

Sebastian Riggs - I like her strategy early here. If she can has him early, cutting off his oxygen, then she’ll be able to work more of her offense in.

[Alex is starting to fade from the lack of oxygen and the desperation sets in his eyes. He drives his body back knowing where he is, Emery’s skull collides with the top turnbuckle loosening her hold. Alex does it one more time with more spunk behind it! Emery’s grip gives way as she goes to protect her head this time. Alex falls forward quickly gasping for air, the redness in his face being flushed away with each breath. Emery holds the back of her head while at the same time measuring up Alex. She rushes at him leaping up in the air and jabbing her feet forward. She hits the dropkick perfectly rolling through as she hits the mat her feet running as soon as they touch the mat. Alex is holding himself up in the corner finally regaining his composure. Emery charges at Alex with a forearm smash only he dodges out of the way at the last moment trapping Emery in the corner.]

Dante Reed - Kincaid is trying to play defense and evade any attack Emery throws at him.

Sebastian Riggs - Emery definitely has the speed advantage in this bout, so I like that she’s utilizing hat strength to keep Kincaid guessing, but he snuffed out that one.

[Emery gets her hands up blocking Alex, but he changes it up delivering hard jabs to her midsection. Each shot Alex connects with drives more air out of Emery, he grabs her arms maneuvering her into a monkey flip. Alex quickly to his feet gives Emery no time to breath smashing her into the mat with a perfectly executed sunset flip! He presses her into the mat unable to fully secure her shoulders with his legs.]

... One!

... Two!

... Kick out!

[Emery bashes her knees together right off Alex’s head. He leans back letting go of her, Emery stands up first catching Alex with a side kick to his left leg. The first one connects catching him off guard, but he quickly blocks her second attempt countering with a dragon screw. He rolls her over appearing to have his move The Straight Shooter in mind.]

Dante Reed - Look out! Kincaid’s trying to lock in the Straight Shooter!

[Emery scurries across the ring before he can sit back applying full pressure to the hold. He grips her in tightly to the move, but Emery has gotten too close to the ropes. The Referee tells Alex to break and he does immediately stomping on Emery before pulling her up to her feet. He hoist her up and slams her into the mat with a powerful spinebuster. Alex is up fast and rushes off the ropes before he can hit anything Emery rolls under his feet forcing him to halt his momentum. She catches him with a step-up Enziguri!]

[Alex sways but still is on his feet, Emery looks around trying to think and runs into the ropes she goes for an arm drag, but Alex blocks her. He kicks her in the stomach and once more rushes into the ropes finally able to get some leverage on Emery with a headscissors takeover, but Emery swiftly lands on her feet much to the shock of not just the fans, but Alex as well. She hits him with a pele kick! Emery tries quickly for a pinfall.]

... One!

... Kick out!

Dante Reed - Not enough to keep Kincaid down.

Sebastian Riggs - I love the fast pace here, Dante. If this keeps up Kincaid is going to crash. He needs to control the tempo.

[Alex kicks out though seemingly dizzy he still has a lot of strength left. Emery dropkicks him back down to the mat and gives herself some distance looking for something big. Alex hearing the loudness of the crowd rolls under the bottom rope to give himself some recovery time. Emery doesn’t give him that advantage though, rushing from one side of the ring back at him and dropping down into a baseball slide. Alex’s face is smacked by Emery’s feet and then off the ringside barricade. He leans over holding onto his face while Emery climbs the ring apron and then the turnbuckle looking out into the crowd and listening to their ovation. She looks down on Alex and leaps high falling like a rock right into him with a swift crossbody. People nearby stand, the cameras catch a few fans surprised by Emery taking such a risk!]

Dante Reed - Emery Layton goes up to the high rent district and comes crashing down with a beautiful crossbody!

Sebastian Riggs - Emery is not holding anything back right now, Dante. She’s a warrior and knows a third consecutive defeat could be disastrous!

[Emery is the first to her feet taking some damage herself from the move. She hears the fans making the official's count and begins to grab for the ring, leaning on the apron as she catches her breath after the hard fall. Alex stands up on her left side and sees her dazed. Alex charges at her now and Emery doesn’t hear him only turning at the last second catching him out of the corner of her eye. He hits her knocking her back into the steel ring steps! Alex back to his feet grabs a hold of her shirt pulling her back to her feet and shoving Emery into the ring under the bottom rope. He slides in after her going for another cover.]

... One!

... Two!

... Kick out!

[Emery gets the shoulder up utilizing all the time she could before needing to. Alex is back up and lifts Emery up on his shoulders. He signals it is time for The Red River Crossing, working the fans up into a frenzy.]

Dante Reed - The Bullet King is looking to end this one right now!

[The pandering to the crowd cost him as Emery is able to wiggle herself free and lands on her feet behind him. Emery kicks him hard in the left leg, and then again causing Alex to back away from her. Emery dives for his legs, but Alex loops his arms around her head getting her into a front headlock, followed by a suplex. Alex is back up quickly rebounding off the ropes and hitting a running senton! Alex stays on Emery trapping her arm and applying The Crossface!]

Dante Reed - And again, Alex Kincaid has Emery Layton in a very vulnerable position!

Sebastian Riggs - He’s not letting up, Dante! He wants this win just as bad as she does!

[Emery shouts loudly feeling the pain down her neck and spine. She reaches her finger tips forward trying to feel for the ropes. Alex pulls back harder wearing himself and Emery down as he does. Emery pushes herself forward with her feet still reaching, fighting hard to ignore the pain. Her finger tips grasp the bottom rope and she lets her body finally go limp. The official gets between Alex and Emery, breaking them up. Alex pulls Emery to the center of the ring looking to apply the move once more, but Emery counters with a small package getting Kincaid’s shoulders to the mat.]

... One!

... Two!

... Thr—Kick out!

Dante Reed - Emery was looking to be finished but caught Kincaid off guard and nearly ended it right there!

Sebastian Riggs - Stellar awareness There by Layton. Kincaid wasn’t expecting the roll-up one bit!

[Alex charges at her, but Emery catches him with a drop toe hold. She runs off the ropes without stopping, coming back as he stands, hitting a slingblade. Emery is feeling her second wind now as she is forcing herself through her heavy breathing. She lines Alex up and charges once more striking him hard in the skull with her knee delivering a perfectly executed Busaiku Knee Strike!]

Dante Reed - Eat The Music! Emery Layton just flattened Kincaid!

Sebastian Riggs - Look, Dante, she’s climbing the turnbuckle now! She’s ready to finish him off!

[Emery climbs the turnbuckle keeping her eyes on Alex the entire time. He is getting up to his knees as she jumps towards him twisting in the air before catching his head on her way down with her top rope cutter, The Prikasa! She takes a second to get some air and crawls over Alex hooking his outside leg firmly.]

... One!

... Two!

... Three!

[DING DING DING!]

Mike Dempsey - Here is your winner, “The Worst of the Pavees” Emery Layton!

[Emery rolls off of Alex and stands in the center of the ring with the referee raising her hand in victory. The crowd erupts into cheers not just at the sight of seeing the King Cobra Champion finally rebound from her stint of losses, but the all out brawl between two of the top competitors in the Battleground. Kincaid now struggles to get to his feet and starts to head out of the ring, but Layton stops him and helps him up to his feet. The two embrace with a respectful handshake before both raise each’s arm up in a sign of victory.]

Dante Reed - What a great way to end the night, Bas. Two world class competitors leaving it all out there in the ring. In matches like this, it’s a damn shame someone has to lose.

Sebastian Riggs - What a great culmination though. Emery Layton gets back in the win column, while Alex Kincaid continues to blow away the critics and the fans.

Dante Reed - Folks that’s all the time we have for tonight. Catch us again in two weeks time when we make our way to Mexico City at the legendary Arena México! Good night everybody!

the message

[We return to the same two story bricked house from earlier, Amanda Devereaux’s residence. We see Dick Devereaux has just arrived and he’s walking up towards the driveway, with his head still buried in his phone. He finishes what he was doing and pockets his phone only to look up and see the front door of Amanda’s house is wide open. Dick begins to run a bit towards the door and enters the house.]

Dick Devereaux - WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!

[Awaiting Dick is a turned over table, some smashed vases and pots, as well as the mirror Godless looked at himself is now off the wall and smashed all over the tile floor.]

Dick Devereaux - AMANDA?! AMANDA!?

[Devereaux starts looking around in a distraught manner; in the downstairs bathroom, the kitchen and then finally he walks into the family room where Amanda was sitting earlier when Godless entered her house. Dick looks around for a moment until he looks towards a wall to the right causing his eyes to widen. Written in blood is a chilling message painted across the wall;]

”AMANDA ISN’T HOME RIGHT NOW. SHE’S GONE TO THE PIT OF HELL TO BE REBORN”

[Next to the message is a bloody handprint, Salvation’s calling card. Devereaux loses it by first throwing rights and lefts through the dry wall, destroying the message. He then turns around and rips the television off of the wall, tossing it up against the bloody wall causing it to explode upon impact.]

Dick Devereaux - NEMESIS! I’M GOING TO FUCKING KILL ALL OF YOU BASTARDS!

[Devereaux stops for a moment of brief hesitation, as if he is deciphering the meaning of the message Salvation left. Devereaux now storms out of his sister’s house, looking ever so determined with every step he makes.]

[Fade out.]
